(Bottle 25 cl) Pale golden with a fine, creamy head. Flowery hop-aroma, medium body with a decent maltiness. Just a cheap pils, but not really any worse than the premium brands. And it has indeed a fair quenching effect. 010698

Bottled. Dark pink, small head. Interesting balsamic raspberry aroma, like from a real Flemish red beer. Smell like beer, but don’t taste like it. The flavour is extremely sweet and very artificial with loads of saccharine and an unbearable sticky mouthfeel. The saccharine is aching in the mouth long after the beer has run down. What an utterly useless excuse for a beer from a respectable brewer! I much rather drink alcopop, Coors Light or lemonade. I have lost all confidence in Bavik.

(Bottle 25 cl) Dark amber with a nice fluffy head. Very roasted maltiness and some spiciness - coriander again? Some sweetness from the malts and perhaps a bit of brown sugar. Very subdued bitterness. 270198

Bottle. Clear golden colour. Big foamy head which is quite stable. Very metallic aroma. Flavour starts of with vegetable, asparagus, rurns astringent and then back to asparagus. Has a hint of fruit well hidden behind a very bad smell and taste. Warming alcohol aftertaste.

A red beer with a huge orange head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of citrus, but also fruity notes like peaches as well as subtle spicy notes of coriander - a very summerly aroma. The flavor is a little dusty spicy with coriander and licoriceroot coming thru, but also some fruityness as well as the alcohol giving it a slight burn. The end is very dry and spicy and somewhat artificial.

Coming back to these beers after a few years. Pours crystal clear golden with a large head that sticks around. Aroma is what I like, Flanders sour - medium strength. The problem is it’s just thats and not backed up by anything else. I like it but man, throw in some malt sweetness. Some sour lemon in the "lager sitting out too long" kind of way. Just souring a regular old blonde ale.

Clear dark orange; orangeish head. Malty nose, and grain bit fruity-yeasty. Typical pils-malt taste; grain sugars, and even pils-type hops. Light body, just the grain giving some filling, drops dead afterwards. Not very exciting. For completing a full dreary portfolio, I suppose.

Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky salmon color with a large foamy pinkish-white head that lingered forever and left great lacing. The aroma was strong sweet raspberry, must and sugar with an almost grainy bready element. The flavor was sweet sugar and sweet berries. The finish is long with sugar and berries lingering. Moderately full bodied. Nice.

(Bottle 25 cl) As "Bavik Witbier" Pale, hazy yellow. Rather small head. Some typical fruity esters, some spices - but not really interesting.

(Bottle 25 cl) A very unusual witbier. Clear and not hazy with a rather strong alcohol. Some odd, dry sweet’n’sour notes. An off bottle? 190896
