Typical belgian tripel color. Some very sparkly effervescence though. Aroma is tart yet sweet, like a apple-cranberry sweet and sour sauce. Definitely a little bit of the pear/tart apple cider aroma. Very tart to begin with, but has a rich honey flavor on the back of the palette. Finishes with a chewy yellow raisin texture/flavor that is very tasty!! While I am extremely impressed with the aftertaste/finish, I do not care for the initial overly tart/dry flavor, that is too big up front and lurking.

Bottled. Cloudy pale yellow. Lemony aroma. Sweet, clean and mild, obvious wheat flavour, and notes of orange liqueur.

(draught) Very pale, hazy, yellow. Fumed glass impaires real assessment). Very thick, white head, very stable. Nose gives lots of coriandre, not much citrus, and wheat. Taste: coriandre, a bit of vanilla, wheat, but no acidity from the wheat. Quite dry mouthfeel. Typical characterless Belgian wit.

Smells like a Budweiser...I'm relieved at my first sip. Certainly not a powerful Witbier, rather Bavik is pure refreshment, with light lemon, orange, and malt flavors laced with just the hint of sweetness. A previous review called this a "beach beer" and I have to agree. Throwing a few of these on the ice and hitting the sand is not a bad plan.

White-yellowish head, lacey. Orange-foxy beer, clear. Nose of coulour malts, hops, bitterish. Slight malt sweetness, balanced by a little hopbitterness and by the carbonation. Rather neutral overall, a bit characterless. Light bodied. Aciditiy from the carbonation last longest. Good balance overall, but not very remarkable beer. Classic for its style.

(Draught) Completely clear-pale gold. Thick regular white head. Nerbal nose, some hops, little malt, chaff. Taste is reasonably hoppy, with a very outspoken malty underbuild, character like of müesli. Empty mouthfeel, bittereffect in aftertaste. A pilsener, unimportant, unthreatening.

Dark red-brown. Thick yellowish head, fast disappearing. Lactic acid, besides old wet wood in the nose, vineous. Restrained acids (lactic mainly) in the taste, some wood, and some port – but much drier. Complex fruit tastes, light sweet underbuild. Dry, a bit empty. Long woody finish. A quite good old brown.

Slightly hazy copper color, short but lasting head. Palm-like aroma, bit malty. Weak malty taste, bit watery. Very much like Palm or De Koninck.
