16 oz can. Poured a cloudy, rather ugly purple-grey. Nose is blackberry, lemon, vanilla, cream. flavor is sweet and sour, lemon, blackberry, very creamy and buttery. Either big time diacetyl or else tons of sorachi Ace in here. Not a fan.

[16oz can from Beer52.] A hazy amber pour with a thick cream head; spicy peach aroma; thick syrupy body with peach and apricot flavours and a slowly building piney bitterness heavy with alcohol; then a pleasing sourish finish. Just the thing for sipping slowly as the winter sun shines.

Virginia Beer Cellar Circus BA Brett Farmhouse Ale 6.5% When I got this is in my fukubukuro after having recently tried the KBC/Upright Brett farmhouse beer I knew I was going to crack this soon! Deep orange gold color with fizzy foam that vanished in a blink leaving nothing behind. The nose is a similar sweet tart fruity Brett but less malt character. Tart and tangy all the way. The label says BA and the flavor delivers a tannic oak and whiskey flavor so probably it’s in bourbon BA. Some vanilla notes as well, a very different brew from KBC’s which was a 3.5% table saison. Really nice beer and a good introductory BA beer where the whiskey barrel is evident but doesn’t clash with the base beer. Recommend.

The only overseas version of this I’ve gotten to try... Virginia Beer Black is Beautiful 10% Imperial Stout blended with BA Imperial Stout Deep inky black with a deep rusty tan head and rich savory umami and soy aroma followed by oats and cacao. Medium bodied with boozy heat but a lot of syrupy dark chocolate, Toasted oats, mild oak and cacao nibs. Aside from the heat it is super smooth. Nice on an icy cold winter day.
