Description
Founded in 2018, by Jasper Tupman and Stuart Winstone, who share a passion for foraging, fermentation and flavour. These two invested everything they had, to build their unique vision of carefully crafted beers with a strong sense of place.

Later joined by Dave Williams as Head Brewer and Lee Calnan as Sales Director, 2020 marked the next phase of development for a small team with big ambitions; to bring innovative, modern farmhouse brewing to a wider audience in the UK and beyond.

By brewing with the very best of local ingredients and alternative techniques that span between historic styles and modern brewing technology, our approach to mixed fermentation and barrel ageing puts the emphasis on balance of flavour and drinkability. Minimal intervention is the key to ensuring that there’s a little bit of nature in every sip.

Keg draught at the Real Ale Classroom, Leicester city centre. Light orange-ish gold and hazy with a small ring of off-white head. Aroma hits me with fresh nectarine, that peachy-y nose fuzziness that hits just right. Whereas the out of control pick me sourness of passionfruit dominates the flavour in the mouth. A little bit of peach/nectarine/apricot cones up in the finish. Medium body with lighter carbonation than many keg beers. Decent stuff.

440ml can. Pours very dark brown with a large head. Aroma is vanilla sponge, burnt coffee and artificial almond. Taste has vanilla sponge cake and roast with milky coffee on the finish.

On tap at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours almost black with a small tan head and good lacing. There’s berry fruits and nuts in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet and juicy but a little thin with roasted malts and berry fruits, A lot of traces come through later, nuts, fruit jam, grapes and even cough mixture. Finish is sweet. This is quite decent, but a little weird – file under “Gimmicky Concoctions” !

On tap at Famous Royal Navy Volunteer Bristol. Cloudy gold orange colour thin white head. Lemon and vanilla aroma. Sweetish aroma. Yes some lemon drizzle not much sponge. Some Yoghurt on the finish. I liked the aroma. Rest is a lemon sour. Some zest. Not overly sour.
