50cl bottle as Green Daemon Helles: BBE Dec 17. Poured at home into an 8 Sail Brewery badged pint sleeve on 25th May 17. Shared with no one. Very slight haze to the golden pour, uneven blanket of white foam for a covering. Soft feel to the brew body wise, first thing I noticed as I looked, sniffed and sipped. Aroma has a mild mixed fruity nature, the taste also has a mixed fruity trace in the flavour. The beer gets more sweeter and maltier as it warms a little, which I liked. Has more about it than your typical ’Pale Lager’ that’s for sure, would certainly be in my top 50 anyway.

An English IPA with bitter hops and some malt. It was good, but I have had better. It lacked a complexity of flavour that you get in the better versions of this.

Clear deep brown beer, small tan head. Palate is light and smooth, decent fine carbonation. Thin dark malts bring mild dark chocolate and coffee. Light piney hop and a little fresh orange. Light finish brings modest bitternss. Thin but it does a good enough job representing the style.

Cask gravity at White Cliffs BF 2017. A little malt a little dusty hop. Amber coloured. Head disappeared quickly. Not much of a beer. Bit sweet. Not great. Touch of ginger maybe.

Taste comprises light roast, charr, liquorice, faint cocoa, brown bread, faint spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light hop dusting. Drinkable but very much the lower end of the style spectrum.

Bottle shared in Kensal Rise. Pours healthy brown with a frothy, beige head. Well toasted bread in the nose, some dusty pine, grains, scorched earth. Light sweet flavour with notes of orange peel, ain’t roast, more earthy bitterness, burnt grains. Light bodied with massaging carbonation. Finishes with some ash, earth. So so.
