Bottle at the RBG Low Countries 2005 tasting session
Muddy orange body. Off-white head. Quite disappointing weak arom, but I found hints of sweet malts, orange, lemon, grapes. Woow, wht a bitter flavour. Harshly bitter in the beginning and somewhat milder, but stil heavily bitter in the end. The finish lasts very long. Medium to fully bodied. Unless, it’s quite undimensional, it’s very nice and the alcohol and bitterness are very nice combinated..

Bottle at the RBG Low Countries 2005 tasting session
Creamy, off-white head, which diminishes mostly. Muddy, deep amber body. Intense aroma of flowers, liquor and alcohol, maybe a little bit too intense. Lightly sweet, moderately bitter initial flavour. Lightly sweet, heavily bitter, long finish. Fully bodied, soft carbonation. The finish is quite weird in contrast to the initial flavour. The initial flavour is good, but then suddenly a flavour-bomb explodes and attacks your tastebuds. Nice and very interesting.

Bottled. Cloudy nut brown, creamy head. Aroma of grapefruit and licorice. Sweet with very soft, gentle mouthfeel with near full body. When the aromatic hops roll in they cover the finish in layer after layer of grapefruity bitterness. Really good!

A hazy red-brown beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet with a very big bad alcohol presence. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, cascade hops, and lots of alcohol, and with a dry end. Nice one.

Draught at RBESG. Dark amber. Big grapefruity aroma. Boldly malty with lots of caramel blown away by massive hops. Still young with some raw sugariness, but already pleasant with developed flavours. Very dalty, bitter finish.

Tap @RBESG’05
World premiere of this beer was in RBESG 2005. Dark brown, tanned head. Very hoppy nose. Very hoppy and full-bodied. One could think this is more like double IPA than a barley wine. Nice brew, gets better by aging for sure.
