RB#5000: 75 cL bottle. Sitting on Grovlams terrace, sun slowly setting on the last day of May. I had a 40 minute bike ride in the most beautiful wheather and had one of the best burgers ever. Then this came on.
Pours pitch black with an initial dark chocolate brown head. Immediately disappearing in a slight fizzy way. Dense roasted, alcohol and burbon aroma. Dark fruity notes swept in a solid roasted malt with a smooth chocolate note and an intense flavour that keeps lingering for eternity with the smallest sip. Continued sweetness lingering through to the finish. Smooth and yet powerful with a nice barrel flavoured base throughout. Utterly wellbalanced. End is not present, the flavour simply never really ends...
Huge thanks to joergen, Thomas_E, sk8viking and Grovlam for sharing this - cheers!

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of Storm. Slightly hazy amber golden with a tall and lively, off-white head. Fresh Bretty nose. Medium-bodied with very dry and bitter accents, spices and Brett. Lightly astringent finish. The Orval inspiration is quite clear, just not as charaterful. 270408

Held directly up to the Miami sun there’s nothing but black, not even around the edge of the glass. Fat, almost iodiney nose, with accents of bicycle inner tube, burnt chocolate and a whack of alcohol. This stings. It has a smokey taste - very intense - with rich roast, wood, and a big fat alcohol finish. Really, it’s all intensity and not an ounce of nuance. Not well made at all. After a couple of drops it gets obnoxious.

Cloudy nut brown colour. Rich chocolatey malt nose is lightly toasty and fairly nutty. Full body up front, but gets thin and harsh at the end, turning the toasty chocolatey malts into astringent burnt toast. This much hop needs more sugar.

Pours with a large, thick, off-white head with good lacing, covering a clear, copper-orange body (sort of peach colored). Aroma is nice, with floral and citrus hop notes with some earthy undertones and a bit of sweet caramel malts. Taste is of bitter hops common in small IPAs, a bit thin.

Pours with an average sizeed, light brown head covering a near black body. Really strong lacing and good retention. Aroma of spices, candi sugar, roasted malts, yeast, and alcohol with a dash of orange peel. Taste is really good, rich, creamy with plums and mild mulling spices, and is overall quite sweet. Alcohol is well hidden in the taste. Plenty of chocolate and maybe a bit of leather towards the finish. Creamy mouthfeel with perfect amount of bubbles. Mouthcoating.
