Description
Foam. It's always been an unconscious calling like drifting into a cumulus cloud bank on a sun-drenched day, or collapsing in a frothy curl of a breaking wave. Foam; it's natural beauty that rises up and is here and gone in a moment in time. I have spent my working life in foam, beer foam that is, brewing beer, conjuring up mixtures of malt and hops to ferment into a crowning moment of beer. Great beer has always sat under foam. Foam. It's not one ingredient that gives stability; it's many interwoven to create a structure of strength pouring out visual excitement. As I sit for a time, I enjoy that moment. All that remains is the lacing that adorns the empty glass and the making of a great memory. Until next time, see you under the Foam...

Can (1/14/26) from CBC Liquors, Westford. Hazy light brown-dark yellow, nice sparkle, thin head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma is mostly sweet-over-light-tart pineapple and lime. Taste is lime over mild, dank pineapple. Smooth, silky texture, soft carbonation, finish as taste. Not particularly strong nor is the aroma/flavor profile that compelling. OK.

On tap at Foam on 06/12/2017
Appearance is shown in the picture
Aroma: orange peel, slight honey, floral tones, light vanilla tones
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas to a sweet and slightly bitter quality; finishes off-dry with some sweet vanilla
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; light smoothness with some dryness and a little bit of a tickle of bitterness
Overall: good for what it was though I didn't really see it as a witbier.

On tap at Foam Brewers on 05/17/2018
Appearance: glossy burnt yellow to orange color with a quarter finger of white foamy head which dissolved nicely but barely left any lace
Aroma: peach flesh & skin, sour & tart character; ample sweet slightly apple-like; plum sweet & apricot-ish notes, slight grassy funk
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to funky sweet and subtle tart quality; finishes slightly tart and funky with a slight dryness
Texture: leaning towards medium bodied - maybe a touch under; leaning towards being a sipper; light smoothness with some dry tones and noted funky ever so slight acidity
Overall: pretty nicely done funky/tart ale I would return to.

Growler to tulip.
Appearance: dark burnt yellow haziness with a finger's worth of white foamy head which dissipated at a fairly slow pace to leave some light lace
Aroma: sweet pear notes with a light white pepper and subtle hay/sweet grassy to straw and herbal quality
Flavor: wraps up the prior noted aromas to a soft sweet and herbal toned quality while allowing a light crisp spicy undertone (seemed barely noticeable); finishes crisp with soft pear and a touch of the hay/straw tones
Texture: light to medium bodied; sessionable; some smoothness with a wispy soothing herbal note; good carb level; low hop bitterness assertiveness to practically none at all
Overall: pretty good saison I would welcome again.

Growler to tulip. Consumed 08/04/2017.
Appearance: burnt yellow to orange haziness with a finger's worth of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: candied/sugared oranges and/or mango-like to apricot-ish juicy tones; light sweet malts with a subtle lactose-like tone to it
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet quality and a super subtle bitterness tries to slide in underneath - it's a good to decent effort; finishes pretty sweet through those candied/sugary fruity tones
Texture: medium bodied; slightly sessionable; good smoothness for the most part but a touch of stickiness along the tongue - not cloying though. Good low carb and practically no hop bitterness assertiveness
Overall: I wonder if this was the start-ish time/beginning of those milkshake IPA's and this assisted in that? hmmmm...eh, I don't know enough.
