Dranl lots of times in my pre RB days! Deep golden lager with orange hues and thin off white head. Fresh caramel malt in aroma with light corn in taste and nice german style hops in finish.

Bottled. Hazy golden. Full bodied with lively soft mouthfeel. Lots of malt, notes of almond, yeast and grass. Rich, flavourful and well balanced.

Light hazy gold with a sweet maple cream aroma. Taste like a blanche where you dunked maple cookies. Medium bodied. Interesting and very Québécois.

Bottle: Poured a medium brown color ale with generous head that goes away too quickly. Aroma is quite complex with definitely some buckwheat and a few spices (probably some coriander mix with something else) completed with Cheval Blanc usual yeast. Taste is quite complex with the roasted buckwheat hitting you right at the beginning and then coriander mixing quite nicely with the yeast. I waited a while until I could pick-up a fresh sample before rating this since I’ve noticed that it doesn’t aged very well.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with medium head with average retention. Aroma is comprised mostly of what I think is the Cheval Blanc yeast. Taste is also tainted with this yeast, which has a very particular small and taste but that I very much enjoy. Malt is also present. Overall, I guess this is an above average amber ale (which in my mind is far from the most innovative or complex style out there). Note, this was a freshly brewed bottle which always increase the quality of Cheval Blanc since there are not known to age very well. Re-rate 2008: Bottle: Poured a hazy orangey color ale with a small foamy head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma of wheat with some light spices and some medium sweet malt. Taste is also dominated by some medium sweet malt with some light spices and some light yeasty finish. Not the greatest beer but still a lot better then what I had expected from this brewery.

BottlePoured out black with small light tan head and good lacing. Aropma was a faint compilation of molassas, coffee, and smoke. Taste was more of the smoke, charcoal, but also prunes, dates and cola. Feel was quite fizzy, medium to thin body. Moderately sweet and lightly acidic, bitter trailer.

Bottle: Poured a clear yellow beer with little or no head. Carbonation is quite weak. Aroma is a bit sweet with some very subtle malt. Taste is quite refreshing with a sweet ending. Quite refreshing for those hot summer days but nothing great or to seek too often.

New label design. White beer with a pleasant banana clove aroma. Very light taste of bananas and malts....lemon cut in through the end. Pleasant and refreshing, which is what a blanche should be..

Bottle: Poured a ruby colored beer with a nice head that disappeared way too quickly. Aroma is quite neutral with only some malt being detectable. Taste is mostly malt with some acidity and, this was very disappointing, some chemical aftertaste that made me poured the remaining beer from the bottle in the sink. This has no cherry taste whatsoever. I’m very disappointed since the last couple of beers I had from this brewery where quite promising in terms of improvements.
