Description
In 2010, David and Andy were looking down the barrel of economic downsizing in their industry. Looking at it as an opportunity instead of a problem, the two set out to take their basement hobby to a new level. The dream of all home-brewers; to go "legit" and open a commercial brewery, presented itself as a once in a lifetime opportunity. The two agreed upon a Nano Brewery (1 BBL brewhouse). Although they were hopeful it would be well received, they had no idea the amount of interest the locals had for craft beers. Along the way they found and hired on some awesome people to bring the brewery altogether. Blackrocks still brews beer at the original pub on 3rd St, as well as a 20 BBL production system in Marquette. two key ideas fuel Blackrocks on a day to day basis, always make the best beer possible and always have fun while doing it.

Hazy amber dense white head. Balanced both in nose and palate. Light sweet start, light but lasting hop finish. More of a pale, not an IPA

12oz can. Solid Black IPA. Crisp bitterness. Rich, roasty chocolate. Great ABV and general mouthfeel, very drinkable stuff. Good.

12oz can. Nice stuff. Deep Munich malt one, rich and sweet. Hop tone is mild, offers a little balance though. Great malt tone, really solid offering.

Draft at Hop Cat Livonia. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a finger of white foam that lingers. Honey and light lavender aromas on the nose. Balanced honey, lavender and malt on the palate. Smooth and highly drinkable.

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a clear deep gold with a full two fingers of head that lingers. Bready malt aromas with light peppery and honey notes as it warms. Palate is the same without being overly sweet. Nice peppery finish at the end. Very drinkable.

12 ounce can, 7/28/23. Clear amber, medium white head, average retention. Aroma of pine, toast, Noble hop. Taste is grapefruit, pine, stone fruit, caramel. Moderate bitterness. White grape in the finish. Not getting much of the advertised tropical but it's solid. Sad that in my many trips to Lake Superior for rock hunting this is the closest I've come to float copper.
