Canned 10/23/24, drunk 12/23/24.
Clear, medium-light brass. Small, white head to spotty cover.
Lots of bready malt, quite robust, snappy, clean. Apple-forward yeast with a bit of honey on the finish. Clean yeast, seems pretty amply well-aged.
Lightly malty with biscuit, honey and bread. Good depth, pretty good attenuation with lots of peppery hop on the finish and good yeast character throughout. Bit of waxiness, perhaps just yeast character, in there, as well. Deep malts and a crisp, clean finish.

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a clear ruby red with a full two fingers of pinkish white foam that lingers, then dissipates. Raspberry fruit and seed on the nose with some mineral notes underneath. Soft kolsch-like mouthfeel with more raspberry and mineral notes. Balanced and dry on the finish.

12oz can. Not unlike a Vienna but a more modern hop juicy hop tone. Kind of odd aroma. Decent hop bite. OK.

Fresh can from Trader Joe's. Pours a clear orange gold with a finger of white foam that lingers. Great lacing down the glass. Pine, grapefruit aromas with some light pineapple and blueberry notes as it warms. Smooth on the palate with a nice pithy bitterness on the finish. Great stuff...a touch less malty thatn Two Hearted.

Crisp, but ever so slightly hazy copper and bronze coloured body with a nice, two to three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of very strong and bitter hops with a lot of grapefruit and citrus notes along with a dash of apples and pears, but the malt is crisp and balanced nicely in the nose, at least. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong crisp and grassy hop notes dominate with a lot of malt up front, but a soft sweetness from caramelised sugars and a touch of nuttiness comes out at the end. Aftertaste is crisp as well, with a nice soft apple and pear note, but the grapefruit flavours from the hops show well, along with the citrus fruits and a dash of yeast and bread at the tail end. Overall, a very nicely balanced beer with a light malt note throughout showing some caramel and biscuits, but the grassy, grapefruity and citrusey notes are the strongest from the hops - in a good way, all easy-drinking, but full-of-flavour. Great to sample from my recent trip to Michigan, but here in New York! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Beer Baron in Livonia, Michigan for US$2,49, canned on 30-December-2021 with the tagline 'RIP John Madden' on the bottom of the can, sampled in my hotel room here in New York, New York on 22-November-2022 while here for Thanksgiving Eve with my family.
