Description
We are a New Zealand owned brewery run by a small and creative team. We brew clean, flavoursome and balanced beer with a Sawmill edge - the willingness to think for ourselves.
The Brewery was established in 2004 on the site of what was once a local timber mill established in the 1860’s. In February 2016 we moved from the original site in Leigh, and we now work from premises just out of Matakana at 1004 Leigh Road.

(Can) Pours clear pale straw with small white head. Subtle aroma of grain with hints of candy. Light body with good carbonation. Taste is rather thin and watery. Pleasant citrus up front. Bread notes. But falls flat at the end. Refreshing and easy drinking but very uninteresting.

(Can) Pours clear golden with good white head. Nice aroma - citrus with herbal hints. Medium body with plenty of fine bright carbonation. Taste is a nice balance and evolution from som crisp citrus notes to herbal hoppy bitterness in the finish. Dry nice.

[33cl can at a restaurant in Wangamata.] Remarkably similar to the Sawmill Hazy IPA I had yesterday, showing just how much non-alcoholic beer has come along recently, The main differences being less head retention, and a slightly more watery mouth feel. Otherwise a tasty pale ale with lots of tropical fruit and a gentle bitterness.
