Juicy fruity aroma and taste with some vibrant notes of grapefruit and tangerine, some peach, nice juiciness, sweet malty support and a solid hoppy finish. Good stuff.

Bottle. Almost black with a cm of dense beige head. Aroma of chocolate, chestnuts, hazelnuts, earth. So it tastes, although the flavours sit together more smoothly than they do in the aroma. Not bad at all.

Can from Beer52, this one contract brewed at Fourpure. Clear gold with thin white head. Aroma of grains, cereal, hint of citrus and earthy grass. Taste of grain with lemon, lime and gooseberry, some resin with a slight syrup like consistency to it. Medium bodied, semi-drying, moderate bitterness. Not bad.

330ml bottle, can't recall where I purchased. Hazy orange-gold with massive foamy head which almost shot out of my glass, stopped just in time. Once settled leaves a nice creamy top. Aroma of sweet pale grainy malts, stone fruits, pineapple, orange, yeast, resin and straw. Taste is fairly juicy with grain and yeast notes. Pine, resin and citrus zest also come through with a moderate bitter finish. Good, well crafted although not a standout for the style.

Can from Hamilton Beer & Wine. Pours clear amber with beige foam. Malt, biscuit, caramel, red fruits, berries, grass. Light to moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter. Medium body with soft carbonation. On point for the style. Tasty.

[33cl can from Beer52 as “Sawmill New Zealand Pilsner”, contract brewed by Fourpure.] A straw coloured pour with a fast fading white head; grainy aroma with some berry fruit; crisp fruity taste with a grainy body; and a fresh finish with a light herbal bitterness. An excellent pilsner.
