On handpull at the Lumsden. Pours orange brown. Caramel, blackberry, blackcurrant, hazelnut, big orange peel, nutty biscuit finish. Good soft body, low carbonation and everything. Good.

500ml bottle, 2016 vintage I think, been in my cupboard a fair while. Pours murky brown. Biscuit, brown sugar, raisins, strong figs, plums, stewed plums, cherry, lemon, bit of vinegar, funk, vanilla, wood. Nice soft body with some carbonation. Really very good.

Can. Pours unclear reddish orange, medium frothy bubblebath head which recedes. Aroma has very thin fruity shades. Taste is crisp, lactic, soft blackberry notes, with a gentle sour character. S’alright guv.

Tap at Smiths Queenstown. Rating 8000 but actually more like 8020. Slight hazy golden with white head. Light spicy yeast, apricot, peach, light mango, bready malts, light grassy, soft citrus. Just medium sweet and bitter, very soft tart. Medium bodied. Quite nice.

Can shared in the van. Hazy pale light yellow with huge white head. Light spicy yeast, soft lemon, bay leaves, creamy wheat, soft cloves, more funny spices, kumquats, hay. Under medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied. Quite nice, but a bit too many spices to my taste.

Can, drunk watching the first couple of episodes of NZ drama Top of the Lake. Pours black, large pale tan head. Woody roast on the nose. Taste is surprisingly light with subdued woody roast, soft underlying rye, some chocolate notes, a very low bitterness, finishing dry.
