Some rust and a touch of maple like a layover in Toronto. Amber pour with decent head. Well rounded, and maple is appropriately subtle. Tap.

Can (thanks margus). Pours golden with whiteish head. Aroma is fruits, citrus, mango. Flavor is sweet and bitter, citrus, pine, grapefuit. Finish is sweet and grapefuit bitter. Overall: good.

12oz can. Poured a clear orange color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was lots of resin, pine notes - pretty flavorful citrus notes here. Flavor was the same, lots of tropical fruit notes, citrus was nice. Pine, orange juice, light resin finish. Nice!

Hazy brown and very deep amber/copper coloured body with a thin, single centimetre tall head that fades very fast. Aroma of nuts, alcohol, earth, toffee, bitterness and a bit of funk - not too great in the nose. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive nutty and malty flavours show first with some grain, rye, funk, earth, pungent alcohol and bitterness come through ending with some caramel and a touch of sugars. Aftertaste shows more bitterness and pungency with some nuts, earth, toffee, grain and a lot of bitterness throughout along with a twinge of alcohol and funk. Overall, not such a great beer, even for the style, but shows at least some characteristics throughout. Not worth trying to find or worth holding onto, unless for some reason you love Ambers, then if that’s the case, you probably aren’t on this site. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Harris Teeter in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 08-January-2016 for US$1,67 sampled at home in Washington almost exactly a year later on 11-January-2017.

Very slightly hazy amber and copper coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tan head that fades modestly. Aroma of chiles, alcohol, a touch of malt and much more chile heat - no hops noticeable in the nose here at all. Medium-bodied; Assertive pungent chile heat hits hard at first then shows some subdued earthi8ness, a hint of floral and grassy complexities and some decent hop notes near the end with the bitterness purely visible. Aftertaste shows some chile heat, a lot of assertive pepper flavours and finishing with a good kick of chile and heat at first that fades to a decent enough beer. Overall, a good chile-based beer with a lot of good, but heavy and strong heat and spice characteristics that persist through the flavour and palate. Draft at a restaurant in Bethesda. Poured a dark black color with a medium sized tan head. Aroma was lots of bakers chocolate.Roasted malts, Lots of rich roasted malts. Dry finish.

Can from Total Wines, Gainesville. Pours golden, slightly hazy, with a small off-white head. Citrus aroma along with some tropical fruit. Flavor is tropical fruit juice, slightly floral hops, grapefruit peel and juice, and slightly burnt toast.

Rich copper coloured body with a decent, two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of light malt, cereal and some funkier cardboard and a bit of a noticeable, but floral hop character - relatively strong. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich malt flavours up front with alcohol, syrup and candy sweetness and a pleasant but earthy hop character showing some moderate alcohol and not too much complexity. Aftertaste is a bit earthy with some sticky toffee and grains noticeable along with a touch of an alcohol bite along with some of the funkier and more assertive cereal and grainy finishes. Overall, a decent Imperial IPA that is much too grainy, cardboardie and simplistic for most. Can from the ’Craft Beer Corner’ at Fedex Field, Maryland. Inoffensive wheat beer, with a decent tangerine character, some grainy malts and a yeasty, dryish finish. Fine.
