24K of liquid gold sitting under a +1 finger head of foam.Seriously slow shrinkage.
Big notes of bread, some pine as far as hops go but put them together and I find a 50-50 balance of sweet vs bitter.
Sweet to start off with, bread and caramel malt, it morphs as the sips go on to a citrus hoppiness...vs a real bitterness. The balance is nice and the abv seems to be in check pretty well.
Thickish mouthfeel but short of full bodied though, at times during the session, it feels like it.
An interesting IPA here. It has its merits and its lower points, referring to the bready notes; if I had gotten more caramel sweetness, Iβd have liked it more..still, a big thanks to Robert for the chance to try this beer!!

An almost clear one, golden in color and with a small, off-white head. Lots of basil on the nose, with some lemony hints. Coriander hints and some pale malts. The flavor is less dominated by the basil, leaving more room for the coriander, wheat and orange peel. A nice bitterness too. Medium body, nice carbonation. Lasting finish. An easy drinkable one, quite tasteful too. Sort of refreshing as well. 141220

12oz can pours a clear orange with lots of creamy, lacing white head. Nose is old school DIPA, big pine, heavy orange, heavy soap, some honey, a little candy sugar, some papaya, hints of guava, but lots of citrus. Flavor follows along, some tropical fruit sweetness at the forefront, but mostly big pine, blood orange, even a bit sprucey, some honey, a little party punch. Full bodied, bitter finish. Old school take with hints of new school hops.

Location: Draft at Max's, 11/3/14
Aroma: The nose is sweet, malts and carrot cake, vanilla notes, some autumn spice, and booze
Appearance: It pours a darker orange-amber color with a decent sized off-white colored head
Flavor: The flavor is sweet and boozy, carrot, vanilla, and brown sugar, with a light spiciness
Palate: The body is medium-plus, with a bit of heat, and an only okay at best mouthfeel
Overall Impression: This one starts off as one of those somewhat gimmicky but enjoyable brews, but the more you drink the less drinkable it gets. I wanted to be a big fan, I really did, but I'm only a moderate fan of this beer. Maybe it would have been better served as a 8-10oz pour.
