Can, best before Dec 17, 2026, drunk Mar 4, 2026.
Wow, this smells like a real IPA. Doesn't have the stale, mousey, overboiled hop that you get in Athletic and Go Brewing, but rather a delightful blend of citrus juice, big, fresh grapefruit and light pine. Some tropical fruit lingering with fluffy, nutty wheat and a touch of honey-like maltiness, even. No wort.
Other than the very light body, this is one of the closest I've seen an NA IPA come to tasting like a real, modern IPA. Most taste like 2005 IPAs. Citrus, light tropical fruit, light juice. Lots of crackery malt, clean and no wort, but yeah, the body is just a bit too thin. If they could work on that, they could really have something special here.

473ml can. Pours a hazy amber orange with a large, frothy, long lasting, beige head that leaves soapy curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of toasted bready malt, toffee and floral hops. Sweet flavour of toasted bready malt, caramel, honey and light spicy hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Tasty and easy to put back.

Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: very dark brown close to black color with a two finger khaki foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: dark fruits, subtle dark chocolate, sweet wheat and/or hay, mild grassy tones, some lemon, earthy sweet tones, some woodiness, good dose of Brett, very low character of caramel
Flavor: takes all the prior noted aromas to a mild sweet to sour blend, subtle tartness further back; mild aftertaste of dark fruits, dark chocolate and woody tones
Texture: medium bodied, great as a sipper, enough tart to sour harshness penetrates the tongue as I expected; subtle astringency but seemed like a good astringency if that makes any sense; finishes fairly dry with some roasty tones and acidic features
Overall: a very well done dark saison I would welcome again in my life if given the chance.
