About
Bellwoods Brewery began as a small brewpub in the west end of Toronto in 2012, and underwent a couple modest growth spurts over the years to encompass two retail shops (selling fresh cans and bottles), and a production brewery in North York (mostly to house The Foeder Pyramid). These days, we produce about 18,000hL a year, which is a mere blip in the grand scheme of Ontario beer, but keeps us pretty busy. The styles we’re interested in brewing range greatly, and we always remain open to new ways of making beer. For the most part, our current efforts are devoted to aromatic hoppy stuff, crisp lagers, barrel aged wild blends, fruit-forward zingers, and the occasional barrel aged stout. There’s always a new, creative project waiting in the wings. We’re still a relatively small, collaborative team, forever dedicated to the pursuit of perfect beer–thanks so much for partaking in the fruits of our labour.

Hazy, orangy-coloured with a frothy white cap, good stay and some foamy lacing spots. Orange juice aromas, pretty big grassiness, a touch of raisins. Lemon-orange zest flavours giving a tad tart, decent bitterness with the grassy hops. A pretty good juicy Triple IPA, if you like the grass-herbal hoppiness blending with it.

Flaska. Oerhört gott! Aprikosen och persika ligger och lurar med sin sötma - vilket gör det hela lättdrucket. Också en rejält syrlig punch av typ lime. Samt lite ostig funk som gör det intressant.

Pale purple, opaque with a thin head. Subtle galaxy-esque hop, lots of berries and mild tartness on the nose. Good body, mild tartness, juicy fruit character. Another quality non-alc Jelly King.

Hazy and pale. Thin head. Lots of starfruit, guava, pineapple. Light body, tart, again lots of fruit punch type of notes and mellow aromatic hop. Light acidity. Solid.

Bottle shared by X. Milky yellow with white head. Quite a lot of perfumy apricot and peach, misc stone fruit, a bit of funk, bright lemon. Highly refreshing. Great stuff!

Can from the LCBO. Murky pale orange with a small lingering white head that leaves tight lace. Nose orange peel, melon, mango, pine and bread. Light fruity sweetness with a medium orange peel and resin bitterness.Mouth is full and creamy with soft carbonation and a big bitter finish. Alcohol is very well integrated. 8+/4/9-/4+/18-

Wow. Perfect barrel, and chocolate is present but not excessive.

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a hazy orange gold with a finger of quickly dissipating off-white foam. Lots of guava on the nose, especially after it warms a bit. Palate has nice passionfruit and citrus notes. Tart tropical fruit on the palate, but milder on the finish. Passionfruit really stands out towards the end.

Opaque. Medium head but it dies pretty quickly. Bright peachy, lychee, type of hop nose -to me this is a standout rakau expression. I don't remember a beer that does that hop better. Cantaloupe -I am wishing I had this on Sunday morning not Saturday afternoon. It's still a hazy, so a bit muddled on the palate. The hop is good but not nearly as bright. Solid work overall but the aroma in particular.
