0.75 l bottle from the brewery, best before June 2022. Minimally hazy, deep ruby with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, just slightly smoky, a bit fruity aroma of caramel, raisins, some smoked ham and a touch of nuts. Quite sweet, malty, gently smoky and slightly fruity taste of caramel, raisins, smoked ham and some nuts, followed by a short, slightly bitter, gently smoky finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty, well-balanced Bock in which the smoke is just an add-on, not the main flavour.

Tap “Sud des Monats Dezember”: Hazy, deep golden to copper coloured, medium-sized off-white head, dry leafy-herbal hoppy nose, some caramel-malt underneath (only detectable when the beer, served wsy too cold , gets warmer); moderate to solid dryish bitter flavour, milder sweetness detectable, hardly medium bodied, nearly a bit fizzy; lingering bitter-herbal finish, desparately balanced by a small amount of pale/caramelly malt in the aftertaste. Not too great, could be better balanced…

Huge thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Bottle looks good. Beer in the glass dark golden, small head. Starts mild, malty, modest dry. Wheaty grainy background. Some hints of caramel. Mild fruity notes of apricot. Finish well balanced, spicy-malty. Not bad.

Huge thanks to Erzengel for that one! Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass amber coloured, nice head. Starts fine malty-woody, some caramel hints, more and more dry-hoppy, fruity, notes of lemon. Mild bitter finish. Some woody-spicy notes as well. Nice!
