My 100th rating! 33 cl. bottle @ home. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Despite its impressive appearance the aroma is light footed floral and fruity with some caramel and dark fruits. The taste is multi layered and complex, with lots of dark fruits, caramel and yeast. One of the great beers of the world.

33 cl bottle @ home. Had this many times before, but not since I’m on RB. Nice clear red brown color. Off white head, a bit rocky. Aroma’s: sweet (and sour) fruits, raisins, caramel, yeast. Flavor is medium sweet, fruity. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, maybe because of rather high carbonation. Alcohol warms the throat (even at 7.5%). Finishes with some spices and somewhat dry.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. Dense, off-white head resting on top of a near-clear, dark brown body. Murky last pour. Mild mould cheese plus dried fruits to the nose. Caramel malts up front in flavour with prunes and raisin beneath, offset by tart fruits towards the finish and warming alcohol. Foamy in the mouth. Quite easy to drink. Suitable on a Friday night at home (Tromsø, 10.02.2012).

Bottle. Pours murky brown with rocky white lasting head. Aroma is fruity (blackcurrant, plum, raisin) but also caramel and lime peel. Taste is initial sweet, then medium bitter and sweet and light acidic in good balance. Body is light oily with medium carbonation. Finish is long with hints of currant, licorice and caramel.

Uklar siste kvelling. Mye sedimenter igjen i flaska.

330 ml bottle bought @ Bierzwerg.de. Pours hazy chestnut brown with a big fizzy off-white head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, sour and slightly stale with hazelnuts, alcohol, prunes, Belgian yeast and hay. Taste is sweet and nutty with hazelnuts, almonds, wood, sweet fruits and hay. Finish is sweet, fruity and slightly bitter with some mineral characteristics.

I have been meaning to get around to this beer for a very long time and finally got off my duff and bought a bottle. I will not wait so long before having it again. +++ Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky dark brown color with a medium sized foamy tan head that left a touch of lacing. The aroma was strong toasted caramel with notes of tea, cherry, butterscotch and toffee and a touch of alcohol showing through. The flavor was thick and full toffee and toasted caramel with notes of butterscotch, honey, cognac, cherry, raisin, tobacco, faint dry herbs and a touch of earthiness. Long toffee and raisin finish. Thick and full bodied. The alcohol was fairly well hidden and the flavor was exceptionally complex. Marvelous.
