Rarate after new checklist: I would say it is not as good as I last tried, but that one may have been aged longer or not so long. Anyway old score was: 8/5/9/5/19=4.6 'Alus muca' in cenuklubs. Smell- medium strong, honey, herbs, sweetness, caramel, nice. Foam- thin, huge in mouth, sweet, caramel, soft, after shaking weak bitter and spicy notes. Quite large foam, creamy white, brownish color, quite lasting, can put half of 0.33 into 0.5. Thickish. Appearance- hazy orange, brown, bit like apple juice (natural) color. Taste- honey, caramel, sweetness, alcohol, even more caramel and alcohol, some spice too. I must say I like it better than 10, this is amazing.Bonus for new bottlecap.

Rerate based on my checklist, has been on my shelf for the longest time and is the last beer I have in stock. Smell - medium strong, malt, yeast, caramel, Belgian notes, roast. Foam- thin, alcohol, caramel, Belgian notes, some sweetness, and malts, warmth. The head is large, light brown white color. But goes away quite fast. Appearance- unique beer bottle cap, simple enough but classic design for the label.Slightly hazy, quite dark brown, orange color. Not sure if hazy to be honest. From - snifter Taste - caramel, malty, alcohol, Belgian notes, yeast, roast, plum. The aftertaste is roast, caramel, sweet. Very good and tasty. This started all the checklist thing :) Interesting enough before I liked 8 more, now I think this hols up a lot better. Old score: 7/5/8/5/18=4.3

certainly different than the 8. Tastes significantly lighter. it is quite earthy as well, doesn’t have quite the caramel-bubblegum belgian yeast flavour i like. the tea flavour does complement the earthy though. online belgian beer factory bottle. Upgraded from 3.5 march 2019

Bottle pour into tulip glass from Total Wine & More, Burlington. Appearance is cloudy (lots of fine dark particulates) brown/dark red/orange with tons of sparkle, 3-finger width foamy beige head with excellent retention and trace lacing. Aroma is caramel, candied sugar, dark fruit, milder citrus. Taste is strong, sweet caramel, candied sugar and fruit. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin, frothy texture, initial fizzy blast of carbonation, then soft until a lively zing at the swallow, mild numbing of the lips, and sweet fruity finish. Overall, perhaps a tad too sweet, a bit overcarbonated and a bit murky. Those are the flaws on a pretty strong brew.

I know I'll never do anything as perfectly as Flemish monks do beer. Many say this beer is great with food. Even better on an empty stomach.
