Während ich die Trappistes Rochefort 6° und 8° noch großartig finde, ist dieses einfach nur übertrieben: es ist viel zu bitter und schmeckt eigentlich nur nach Likör. Es hätte eigentlich gute Aromen, welche auch ausbalanciert wirken, aber in der Zucker-Alkoholsuppe ertrinken diese leider viel zu schnell.

At a tasting, many thanks, medium fizzy bubbly head, cloudy lightish brown color, aroma of candy and light dried fruits with a hint of oxidation, flavor of cakey maltiness, some oxidation and dried fruits, not overly heavy. Nice.

Ein angenehm weiches, samtiges Bier mit malziger Basis. Dabei sind auch gute Gewürznoten zu finden, welche ein schönes Zusammenleben entwickeln. Ein Bier das schon nahe an flüssigen Lebkuchen mit Schuss kommt, aber nicht abstrus sondern wunderbar ausgewogen schmeckt.

Aroma is a bit weak. Big and long head, dark amber color. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium body, slick texture.

Brązowa barwa, piana intensywna, szybko opada. W aromacie wyraźnie wyczuwalne czerwone owoce oraz rodzynki, minimalnie przyprawowe. W smaku wyczuwalne bardzo podobne nuty, bogaty smak. W mojej opinii za mocno nagazowane, goryczka na minimalnym poziomie.

Poured from 330mL bottle (best before 09/05/17 - was trying to age it, but forgot about it). Near clear medium-dark auburn brown with full beige head. Still very full bodied with notes of plum and fig with dry belgian yeast and spice. Very well balanced flavours. I prefer this slightly over the Rochefort 10.
