Tap at the brewpub during RBESG Poured a lovely bronze/amber with a thick medium sized persistant head. Some nice sweetish maltiness in the aroma with notes of orange peel and alcohol. Quite nice. The taste was almost all nice light fruity maltiness mingling with alcohol. Some hoppy? bitterness near the end. Good for the strength... a baltic porter? Erm... no? All in all, a notch over the commercial Czech beers I’ve had nearing that strength.

Tap at the brewpub during RBESG Poured a murky paleish yellow-golden body with a small persistant white head. Some yeastiness could be found in the nose, but the graininess and pungent grainy maltiness are more evident. Some weak hopiness could be found as well. A pleasant grainy taste surrounded by some her bal hopiness. Quite nice but not a world beater in my opinion.

Tap at the brewpub during RBESG Poured a darker cola like brown-red colour. A nice subtle malty nose, notes of raisins. The grainy-malty taste is good and sweetish, carrying some woodyish and almondy notes. Weak alcohol. Simple in a way and yet quite good.

Tap at the brewpub during RBESG Poured a very dark, almost black red colour with a small head that went away fast. A light but nice caramelly nose. The taste is caramel again, very creamy. good maltiness, even if it’s a bit light overall. A solid, quality dunkel that’s very drinkable to boot.

Tap at the brewpub during RBESG Poured a murky dark yellow body, small white head that went away at a medium pace. Very grainy nose with some nice soapy fruitiness and herbal hopiness. A lovely grainy, bready taste rounded up with some herbal hop bitterness. Another very good Czech brewpub desítka!

Bottled at RBESG 2007. A hazy golden beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of straw, leading to a dry bitter finish with notes of hay.

Točene v Modre Hvězdě v Dobřanech: Distinctive hoppy (Saaz ?) nose with a light fruity-yeasty touch, backed by some sweet malt, golden coloured, lacy creamy head; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, very small malty base detectable; lingering hoppy-yeasty finish. O.K., good stuff, but not an archetypal Bohemian Pilsener, the 10° of Modra Hvezda is better...........

On tap at the brewpub: Deep golden coloured, small foamy layer, fruity-honeyish-grainy nose with distinctive traces of alcohol and yeast, but with a good amount of hops as well; medium to full sweet-bitter flavour, quite full bodied; alcoholic-bitter-sweet finish with a lingering sweet-fruity-alcoholic brandy-like aftertaste, a bit like a "Mon Cherie". Not great, but drinkable.........
