22 oz. bottle right from the Farmers Market in VT. Consumed at cellar temp. Snifter showed a mostly clear pee color with low carbonation that still produced a ring of white head with mild retention. Nose tells me grapefruit, tropical fruits, pine and sweet malt. Flavor is dry and resinous, lots of grapefruit and tons of pine. Honesty the hop profile is pretty deep. Leafy and juicy. Light to medium body with a HUGE lingering bitterness. Only three other words are needed to describe this: Tasty, flavorful and quaffable.

Finally opened this up hopefully it hasn’t fallen off. Enjoyed in a standard pint glass with buddies at around 40 degrees F. Almost midnight black, solid head that stuck around for a while..maybe my glass wasn’t clean? Smell is very roasty with tangerines and nuts. Taste is roasted malts, hint of chocolate, nuts like almonds and a mild bitterness. Pine and Citrus hop flavors and some oakyness at the finish.

Courtesy of BOLTZ7555. 22oz bomber pours clear deep gold with thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up rich wonderful dank hoppy goodness followed by some citrusy grapefruit. Wow, solid aroma. It took me a good 10 minutes of savoring before I took a taste. Sadly the taste couldn’t hold a candle to the aroma. It was watery thin and runs into grapefruit like hop resin bitterness and then a sort of dry mineral note into the finish. It seems a bit of body and a bit of hope flavor could round this thing out. Wait! 3.5% I see. Not so watery for such a wonderful session brew. Well done.

Bottle shared by Kan, thanks! Pours a clear deep amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of sweetness with grain and cookie with an underlying slight light hop bitterness. Flavor starts sweet with caramel and grains and has a slight hop bitterness as well as a bit of warming alcohol.

2012 Vintage. Acquired this today at the Lawson’s Market in Waitsfield. It was great to see Sean and team! Enjoyed in a small Duvel Tulip at room temperature. New format is 375ML for $15. Red wax top.

A - Poured a thick and viscous midnight black. No head aside from a fine and thin later of coffee coloured bubbles around the edge of the glass. Amber hues but overall, midnight oily black. Not as viscous as a BCBS but quite heavy.

S - There’s a lot going on here but overall, the nose is weaker than I expected. There’s a lot of peat and charred oak. Lots of burnt wood, a very small hint of vanilla and molasses.

T - The start taste is very much a roasted toffee malts with hints of espresso beans and very dry baker’s chocolate. The middle is a very oaky sort of smokey peat taste. The finish is this boozy bomb of vanilla, oak, bourbon and heavy maple syrup sweetness like brown sugar.

M - Heavy body, very low carbonation but it’s this tongue covering thick oaky beer that sticks to every aspect and leaves a tingling sensation loaded with vanilla and coffee beans.

O - This was a great beer but I remember the 2011 being better. I’m no expert on stouts but there’s this balance that’s missing from the 2011...that vintage was less oaky and smoky. I have more of this so maybe it just needs some time.

Thanks Wally for hooking us up! I had this at around room temperature in a Riedel Snifter. 2011 Vintage.

A - 1-Finger head that was almost black with tight bubbles. The beer itself was a solid black. You only saw it was brown when pouring but can’t tell once the beer is in the glass.

S - Figs, raisins, apples and TONS of maple syrup. The bottle says 2 gallons of syrup were used per barrel.

T - I’m tasting a lot here. First of all, molasses is easy to pick out followed by oak, smoke and the astringency of this was very high. It’s a very malty beer with lots of toffee notes.

M - HUGE carbonation. and it’s a medium bodied beer that lingers for a while

O - This beer was fantastic but it was also very heavy. I would have to share this with a friend to really enjoy it.

Bottle shared in NH - many thanks guys! Pours bright yellow with a small, white cream head. Dry orange and lemon citrus in the nose. Outrageously tasty flavor, lots of lovely straw, lime, citra, mellow grass. Light bodied with average carbonation. Delicious. Great balance. Dry grass, lemon, straw to finish. Superb session beer. Excellent from start to finish.

22 oz. bottle, shared by Adam Jackson! Snifter showed a nice crimson color, thin white head lightly carbonated. Nose is all pine. Taste is caramel malt with lots of Earthy pine resin. The amount of pine is a bit ridiculous. The texture is oily and slick. I had to sip this, and 10 oz was enough for me.

Picked this up at the hunger mountain coop. Deep amber ale. Nice 1 finger head. Smells like pine resin. Hints of pine cone. Some sap. Very earthy. Nice bitter balance in taste. Very weak mouthfeel. Not too balanced. High bitterness. Very earthy. Drinkable but it's not as great as I had hoped.

Bottle @ Dan’s house, courtesy of steve_0. Thanks! Pours a hazy orange appearance with a small tan head. Big garlic, onion, a bit dank, grape, a touch citrusy aroma. Spicy, a bit herbal, somewhat woody, orange, a bit tangy flavor. Nice stuff.
