Surprise tap at BCTC ’12. Yay! Average clear pale gold color. Hard, soda-like carbonation. Smells of sharp sweat, drained puss, iron, & moldy yard clippings. Gentle, initial powdered sugar apple sweetness turns brighter as it goes. Moderately acidic, with a talcy/mineral finish. The brett stink strayed from barnyard & went a bit too far into body odor territory I thought. Difficult to get an untainted sip.

On tap at skinny pancake. Enjoyed in a Lawson's pint glass. 3 finger of white creamy head. Fades slowly. Looks like a pale ale. Deep golden brown. Very earthy nose. Lots of pine and a sort of cigarette / cigar taste. Call me out for this one but it tastes like I'm eating a cigar. Sorry Sean. Some bit of orange zest and some pine comes. Nice solid malt backbone. Medium body.

On tap at The Reservoir in Waterbury, VT. Pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is very fresh, full of floral hops, some funk and a tad of biscuity malt just to back. Flavour reveals some beautifully pungent floral and funky hops, with lots of barnyard coming through along with hay. Extremely drinkable and exceedingly well-crafted. Excellent.

Picked this up at the farmer’s market a few weeks ago. Enjoyed in a Hill Farmstead glass. Almost non-existant head. Dark orange brown appearance. Spicy and wheaty scent. Hints of candied sugar and bready yeast. Delicious. Lots of rye characters, big wheat profile, hints of honey and sugars. Some spice like coriander in here. Dry mouth feel and light body.

A hazed blonde ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, nice perfumey malt with clove extracts, orange peels, interesting. in mouth, a nice sweet malt with clove extract, nice and smooth, weizen like. On tap at Reservoir, August 5 2012.

Draught at Farm House Tap and Grill. Huge rye nose, pepper, spicy, light esters, hay and farmyard. Great nose. Amber with lace. Flavor is wheat, rye, pepper. Very malty and grainy, sweet and thick. Peppery finish. Nice but a bit bland. Body is a bit thick and heavy—hops don’t come through, but the rye is very nice.

Bottle @ Stephen’s house, courtesy of Stephen. Thanks! Hazy yellow orange appearance with a small white head. Somewhat spicy, mildly floral hoppy, a touch toasty, grassy aroma. Grassy, straw, cracker, earthy, herbal, floral flavor. Tasty but fairly neutral flavor.

Thick, brown sugar, somewhat syrupy, real maple syrup, a touch fruity, vanilla, light toffee flavor. Not sure how much I could drink but quite fun.

Pretty average saison. Easy to drink, easy to go down. Not too much hay or anything, so easy for the average beer drinker with a little bit of spice to it. A little bit of hay, a little bit of yeast. Not much lacing, not much head. On tap at Farmhouse Tap and Grill.
