Bottle @ Stephen’s house, courtesy of Stephen. Thanks! Hazy yellow orange appearance with a small white head. Somewhat spicy, mildly floral hoppy, a touch toasty, grassy aroma. Grassy, straw, cracker, earthy, herbal, floral flavor. Tasty but fairly neutral flavor.

Pretty average saison. Easy to drink, easy to go down. Not too much hay or anything, so easy for the average beer drinker with a little bit of spice to it. A little bit of hay, a little bit of yeast. Not much lacing, not much head. On tap at Farmhouse Tap and Grill.

Bottle number 99 shared from Adam Jackson’s cellar. Thanks for the opportunity bud! Had about 10 oz. in a tulip glass. Deep amber pour with no head what so ever. Nose is mostly Maple syrup with a very subtle hint of Belgian yeast. Flavor is sweet but NOT so much that it becomes sicking. What really caught me off guard was the bitterness in the finish. The hops or perhaps spice is what helps balance out the sweetness. Medium body is leaning on the full side. This beer may really improve with age. I understand the ingredients and time the brewer used to make this beer. I realized a lot of the cost is labor and time taking care of the brew. The big question for me is: “Would I spend $30.00 (U.S. )for this and have to drive to Vermont?” Oh, and stand in line for 20 or 30 minutes. The answer is… no. It’s a very tasty brew and may cellar quite well… but it’s a one and done for me.

On tap at Three Penny Taproom. $6 for a pint. Light golden brown. 3 finger head sticks around. Cloudy and gorgeous. Very light hop aroma of centennial and Amarillo hops. 50% carbonation. Incredibly light body. Taste is very sessionable but perhaps too thin and watery for my preference. Thin beer is not what I like. Anyway, very musty dusty and hints of pine. Finish is bitter

Bottle shared by Dennis. Pours apricot amber with white head. Semi cloudy. Nose/taste of pineapple, citrus, caramel malt and pine wood. Dry pine finish. Medium body.

Bottle. Pours dark amber brown with white head. Nose/taste of rye bread, caramel malt, pine, citrus and freshly cut grass. Lots of rye. Medium body. Finishes bitter rye and malty with some grassy pine.

Picked this up at the amazingly great Warren Store in Vermont. Fresh Lawson’s every Friday! Stuck it in the fridge. Enjoyed in a Hill Farmstead Glass at 50 Degrees F. Looks like I’m the first person in 2012 to review this on RateBeer. Awesome!

A - Beautiful light golden color. Hints of orange. Crystal clear in appearance. SRM of 4 maybe 6. Vigorous pour produced a 1 finger head that was just a bit off-white, almost cream color with very tiny bubbles. I really enjoyed pouring this.

S - Very nice scent. Very much a wheat scent almost a very mild bock scent. Excellent hop scent. Cascade certainly dominates the hop profile in scent. Mild lemon scent on the back of my nose.

T - Nice! Very mild malts with a very wheat sort of backbone. I know this isn’t a wheat beer but it has that taste that reminds me of a wheat beer. Of course the Cascade hops are there and Centennial but not in a dominating way.

M - 60/40 carbonation on mouth swish. Medium to light body. Excellent bitter finish that sticks around for a while.

O - It’s been about 3 hours since I had an American Pale Ale as balanced as this and that was Hill Farmstead’s "What is Enlightenment" This beer exudes balance with an excellent mouth feel that blows me out of the water. Great job Lawson’s team!
