2017 bottle, 9.0%, rating #12000, and Bavarian beer number 2000 - so what is better to celebrate this than a Franconian-brewed cherry-Lambic? So many thanks to Mina for traveling to Bayer Theinheim with me

Fancy bottle, 9%. Hazy red, no head, viscous, drawing ropy strings (infected with pediococcus or pectin from the fruit?). Cherry, a hint paint stripper, wood, banana peel, viscous mouthfeel, not unpleasant though, dry fruit sirup, not sweet though, quick dry, tart finish, very dry on the palate. Interesting, not unpleasant, but not a completely finished beer either.

Only beer from this tiny brewery. The brewer collected all the courage he had, drank out half a litre of his own brew (at 10 AM), took a sigh and filled up my pot stopper bottle with his beer. Malty barnyard aroma. Malty flavor with boiled milk and some late hoppiness. Dirty palate. Still this pub brewery is a great place to visit. Even cuban cigars are sold!

Bottle from Hopfen & Malz, Berlin. Rich, bready malt nose with spicy, slightly lemony hops. Almost clear gold with a low, thick head. Flavor of spicy hops, minerals, and crisp, crackery malt. Decent, but almost certainly needs to be tried on tap and fresher.

Bottle. Unclear golden color with white head. Aroma is white wine, white grape juice. Taste is white grape juice, some weird stuff, funky, earthy. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Quite weird, and too alcoholic.

Rerate from tap at Hopdog. Embarrassingly had this many times at Hopdog and never rerated it. Lovely juicy straw and grain nose, chewy, dry, fruity, light metallic herbal, broad hop finish, very moreish, excellent.

Old rating 6 7 8 6 7 Bottle. Cloudy Amber, off-white foam. Chewy juicy sparkly base, good broad bitter notes on chewy fruits, clean, satisfying, moreish.
