Description
Temporal Artisan Ales is a brewing project that is crafting delicate oak-aged beers in a shared space at Luppolo Brewing Company in Vancouver, BC. The beers we create are fermented 100% in our oak barrels over lengthy periods of time, imparting delicate complexity. Portions of separate barrels are blended to enhance specific characteristics unique to each barrel. Every beer we release has been meticulously crafted from start to finish.

Pale, slight haze. Not much head. Smells rathee sharply acetic, has a soft plum note and a fair bit of acidity, though not as much on the acetic side as expected. For me the base doesn’t quite get there and the fruit expression is somewhat low.

Pale purple colour, hazy. Thin head. Tart, fairly heavy cherry, not necessarily bright up front but finishes decently. The base has a hint of sharpness to it, it’s not bad just a bit inchoate.

Medium brown, no head. Up front tonka bean and coffee, and bourbon. The palate is more complex, roast balancing with date sweetness, tonka accents and a finish that introduces tannins and alcohol. Full, silky body with just a bit of juiciness...the good kind.

Dark brown, aroma is rich. Beautiful stout, syrupy but lots of barrel…the bw adds nuance and complexity. Port and whiskey both hit really well. That little vinous note, blast of wood and alcohol in the finish. Rounded, layered, complex. Excellent.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 2026/07/14). Chill hazed blonde gold with small white head. Rustic wheat with very feint Belgian esters, light floral and grapefruit hops. Decent.

On tap at Threefold. Pours opaque yellow with a small white head. Loads of yeast and pot on the nose. Flavour has more of pot, chalk, orange pith. Less obnoxiously yeasty on the palate than on the nose. Having a hard time finding that Nelson. Not a big fan.

On tap at Threefold. Pours a slightly hazy blonde with a small white head. Floral hops and a rustic saison character on the nose. Flavour has a clean, rustic yeast character, nice biscuit malt base, and a grassy, floral hopping. Finishes crisp and slightly dry. Very nice hoppy saison.

12oz shared with Andriy.
Aroma: dark cherries, spice, bold, sweet.
Taste: along the same lines, some booze, a lot of Amburana spice.
Overall: nice one, but I can't get rid of the thought that I feel manure notes which are most probably coming from Amburana barrel, hehe.
