(swing top bottle, 100cl) Hazy, dark amber to chestnut-brown colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Delicately roasty malty aroma with notes of caramel, a nutty touch and a delicately herbal-spicy hops profile in the background. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Hearty and mildly roasted malty and nutty taste with hints of caramel and herbal accents; moderately dry, sweet-bitter malty finish, again with slightly roasted and balanced herbal hoppy notes. A well-crafted and not too sweet Dunkel. 28.XI.12

Bottle: Hazy, light amber coloured, smaller loose off-white head with a good lace; sweetish-nutty and toasty nose, delicate traces of hops in the second row plus a shy rural-fruity influence; light go medium bodied, moderate sweet-bitter flavour; pretty robust and lingering sweet-bitter finish with toasted malt, dried fruits, nuts and - later - hops. Rich, rural, semi-franconian Dunkel…

Tap at the Forschungs Brau haus, Perlach - 16/07/12. Served in a ceramic mug so taking a punt on the colour being a mid to dark brown with a good off-white head. Malts, bread and fruit on the nose. Taste follows on, figs, dates, toffee. Fairly full bodied with a smooth finish.

Tap at the Forschungs Brau haus, Perlach - 16/07/12. Looked like a golden pour (in ceramic stein) with a decent white head. Floral hops on the nose, grain and pale malts. Tastes follow on from nose, earthy with a good bitter flavour. Medium bodied, a fair rasp of carbonation, crisp dry finish.

Tap at the Forschungs Brau haus, Perlach - 16/07/12. Golden orange with a smallish white head. Malt, hops, citrus nose. Toasty malts, grass, bread in the taste. Lighter end of medium body, slightly bitter fiinish.

Tap @ Forschungsbrauerei with neur0. Dark brownish appearance with a cream colored head. Mild bubblegum, sweet candy, mild chocolate, toffee, aroma. Brown sugar, toffee, chocolate candy flavor. A little sweet but pretty tasty.

Tap @ Forschungsbrauerei with neur0. Dark orange appearance with a cream colored head. Quite floral hoppy, toasty malty, a bit soapy aroma. Soapy/floral hoppy, light bodied, fairly bitter flvaor.Not bad.

Tap. Grassy hops. In a Stein. Medium fruity body, minerally grassy fruity citric, light berries. Nice citric aromatics retronasal. Fresh summerbeer.

On tap at the brewpub. A brutal one. Real doppelbock with its rich sweety oily body with malt notes dominating the aroma.
