Cask at the Merchants Inn, Rugby, 06/03/13. Clip states 4.5% ABV. Dark chestnut brown with a thin off white head. Nose is all over the place - lactic tones, vomit, dark malt, soap. Taste improves immeasurably when contrasted - dark malt, treacle toffee, biscuit. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Average beer but knocked down by a particularly foul smelling nose!

Cask at Merchants Inn Beer Festival, Rugby - 31/10/12. Amber with a thin off white head. Nose comprises dark caramel malt, tropical fruit, ripe mango, booze and a little spice. Tastes of bitter grapefruit, rich tropical fruits, orange pith, sweet malt, candied sugar, light pineapple. Fuller end of medium bodied with fine carbonation leading to a bitter sweet finish. Alcohol is evident but not OTT. Flavoursome and well executed for a 10% cask DIPA!
