Description
We started brewing in 2011, in a small barn in the Cheshire countryside, with a simple goal of presenting our locality with delicious beer.

A lot has changed since then; we now brew an ever evolving variety of progressive cask beer alongside modern, vibrant beers in can & keg, we now ship our beer further afield, even to different countries, but our loyal audience in the North West keeps us busier than ever and as such we've grown our brewing capacity over time from 100 thousand to 2 million pints per year.

But more than a decade on we are still an independent brewer-owned brewery, passionately crafting beers from our inspiring & beautiful location. Driven by the same energy we have always had, to bring you an ever changing array of bold, vibrant & delicious beer.

Cask at the Bear, Paddington on 29th November 2025. Copper with shallow, loose off-white foam and partial lacing. Nutty malts in aroma. Malty in-mouth with leafy hops, both of which shape a longish finish. Light bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Embers is the nickname of England cricketer John Embury. Obvious initial toffee is soon complimented by a stewed floralness in both aroma and taste, which makes this beer a little heavy going. Maybe on the turn.

Slightly hazy yeloow pour with a stable (small) white head. Aroma is grapefruit, mango, a hint of herbs. Taste is quite similar - expected it to be slightly bolder, given the ABV. Liked it.

g9ld. Thin foamy white head primarily sticks to the inner rim. Aroma had citrus and underlying stone fruit. Some porridge. Flavourwise we have tangy citrus with peripheral stone fruit. A buzz of flavour. Underlying malts. Light. Thin. Buoyant soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Nice.

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours a pale straw with a small scummy off-white head and good lacing. There’s biscuits and malts in the aroma. In the mouth it is quite sweet with flavour giving grains, floral hops and tropical fruits. After a while some sharpness can be detected along with hints of stone fruit and spice. Sweetness lasts into the finish. This is decent enough if a bit anonymous.
