Description
We are Pomona Island. We have a passion for innovation and style. We wake up each morning and strive each day to create te finest beers on the... Nah, can you imagine if we actually spoke like that? We're just beer snobs and over-appreciators who thought we would put our (small amount of) money where our (big) mouths are.

The Brewery is Nick and Ryan, who started the Gas Lamp bar in Manchester CIty Centre (where you can always find our beers!), Gaz from Marble Brewery and James from Tempest Brewery.

The beer is all stuff we like to drink. Loads of sessionable new world hoppy pales, more traditional stouts and porters. Big Juicy IPAs, and some fun experimental stuff to keep us and you interested.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 02/09/2025.
Clear golden topped with an off white cap that retains.
Nose is orange peel, herb, grass, grains, toasted malts.
Taste comprises orange zest, melon, mandarin, citric tinged straw, grass.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with mellow light juicy to grassy hop bitterness.
Okay pale ... not up to PI's usual standards. A little too malt forward for my liking.

Near clear pale tan beer, small bubbly cream colour head, doesn't last. Some solvent aspects to the snout - hmmm! It does calm down a bit after a few mins but
, it's never enticing in my book Light crisp palate, semi dry. Thin bodied malts, bringing just a very small side serving of sweetness. Bright sharp lemon is stopped from getting out of hand by the judicious Bourbon barrelling, soft oaky vanilla and soft ripe bourbon soaked fruits do wonders for the balance of this one. Elderflower kinda dances round the edges and leads to a crisp tart finish. Interesting brew. The nose is not great but, thankfully has no discernable bearing on the flavour. So very nearly too tart for me and yet, the barrelling just about keeps it under control. The 11% abv slides on by. Overall, a good job. For me, even more barrelling would be better and, somehow get that nose sorted.

Pacman on the Atari 2600 is my earliest gaming memory. Black with a crisp keg pour texture, with light coconut amongst its smooth roasted notes, which lingers long. Aroma not as stated. Nice mouthfeel.

As stated below by Grumbo. This was clearly not right on the day and should not have been made available. From the other reviews this is clearly not a fair reflection on the overall product

Tangerine and grapefruit, pineapple and mango, nice and juicy, some hop spice, mosaic blueberry chiming in, semi sweet malty backing, piney balanced bitter hoppy finish. Very nice, Pomona Island hoppy gear so reliable, glad we can get it over here.

J.M. Barrie gifted the Peter Pan rights to Great Ormand Street Hospital in 1929. The gift of citrus tropical fruit is in this one, pineapple quite evident and slightly sweet for it. Plenty of nose in this too. Citrus base.
