Bottled. Pitch black colour, big brown head. Aroma is chocolate, roast and a lot of vinegary hints. Flavour is coffee, roasted malts, alcohol and chocolate. Some vinegary hints also. Enormously well aged (early 80’s vintage).

Bottle 1983: Poured a dark thick black with a creamy brown head. The aroma was a sweet roasted malt and plum. The taste was very complex and delightful.

No head to speak of. Opaque black body. Deep plum, sherry, and wild berries aroma. Taste is very similar. Complex and hard to describe, but in excellent condition. Amazing that it’s held up so well for so many years. (0.33l bottle. 1983 vintage. Kulminator, Antwerp, of course.)

1975 vintage. Another treat sent by Walt! Charcoal-brown body, thin-medium ochre head, nicely carbonated for a 31-year old beer. Chocolatey aroma with mocha, roasted malt, a hint of marshmallow, and alcohol. Soy flavors opened the palate, followed by brown sugar, toast, charred malts, and alcohol. Raisins are also present. Subsides to a long, bitter finish. This beer held up amazingly over all that time. A real treat.

Bottle, vintage 1973 - sampled at the RBESP 2005
Very small sample of course, but I’ll try to make the best of it: Black hole colour. Chocolate, fruit and spice notes. Some layer of soy, and smoked bacon. A tad lemonpeel. Amazing.

Kulminator, bottle of 1983. Dark opaque color, hardly any head left. Aroma of rye, mocha, dark chocolate, fruity. Heavy taste of chocolate, bit salty. Very nice.

Bottled 25cl 1983 vintage, alc. 9.5%
Real opaque black (black as the night), small expresso head. Dark chocolate, roasted nose. Full-bodied - thick as tar. Chocolate, tar, roasted malts in the flavor. Ageing has propably added some earthy elements. Long roasted, a bit sugary aftertaste with some licorice. Masterpiece.
