Ever so slightly hazy, copper and bronze coloured body with a nice two to three centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, crisp and very resinous hops with a lot of biting hoppy qualities, all with some grass and flowers noticeable towards the end. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong malty flavour at first with a good deal of alcohol and pungent hops with a light bitterness throughout with a deeper malt profile, especially during the middle of the sample. Aftertaste shows the relatively hoppy and bittering flavours more than most others, especially with a pie and perfectly savoury Overall, a very strong and pungent beer with a great hop profile and a lot of robust and full-flavoured qualities that leave some residual sugars on the palate, but more of the bitterness from the pure hops than anything else - oh yeah - and some alcohol astringency as well. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Dominion Beer and Wine in Falls Church, Virginia on 22-October-2019 for US$5,49 sampled at home in Washington on 10-November-2019.

1pt can at my place in Cartagena, Colombia bought in NYC. No BB date. very dark black color, very dark mocca colored head. smells earthy, spices, coffee roasty, ashy, some light sweetness, lightly caramelly. nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes earthy, spices, peppery, bit ashy, some maple, some lactose, some coffee, bit soapy, licorice, light vanilla. finishes lightly dry and light to medium roasty bitter with notes of coffee, lactose and some light vanilla notes. very nice one, maple is very very subtle, rather on the roasty bitter side, nevertheless drinks very good. 7, 4, 8, 3, 16

Can. Pours luminous red. Strawberry, watermelon, pineapple, raspberry, banana, synthetic cherry, bit of grain and a touch of dough in the back end. Light body. Decent.

Caramel. Oily consistency. Lots of milk chocolate. Pours dark brown with good head and lacing. Lost of icing sugar, some cherries. Not bad for a barley wine. Bottle at Aslin.

Poured from bottle thanks DeMont 10/18/18 #26/900. Nice color in the glass, no head. Aroma is cherry skin, cotton candy. Taste is light cherries and marshmallow. Very different but smooth.

Chalumeaux with the bottle share. 10-18-2018 on the date. #26 / 900. Wow! That is different. Flavor ends on marshmallow with a slight cherry hint. It really is light drinking a cherry flavored marshmallow. T.J, thanks for sharing. Has a lot of uniqueness.

16oz pour at Congdon's in Wells, comes with a donut stuck to the rim, then a clear fizzy gold with a ring of white head. Nose has honey, malt, candy. Flavor has malt, honey, candy. Beery. Finishes sweet. 6 4 5 2 10

Can from Air Force Hops (thanks, Chris!) poured into taster glass as part of a blind taste test. Appearance is hazy yellow/light brown with nice sparkle, finger-width white foamy head with good retention and no lacing. Aroma is lemony citrus. Taste is lemon citrus with cracker/biscuit, some astringency, mild grape/Nelson Sauvin. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with frothy texture, soft carbonation with crisp, dry finish as taste with mild yeast. Overall, aroma and taste are on the mild side and the complexity there is doesn't fully mesh well. Not enough sweet to balance the yeasty, bitter astringency.
