Draught at 3 små Rum, Göteborg, on July 14, 2011Cloudy to murky yellow to orange color, smallish yellow head. Malty, chalky, fruity scent, some esters as well. Pineapple, fruity, bitter taste, also chalk. Bitter lingering aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.Rather one dimensional and not very balanced. It’s OK and drinkable, but I’ll choose something else for my next one.The chalky parts in both scent and taste sort of reminds at times of a damp cellar, old wooden potatoe boxes and moldy soil. Part of it reminds me of the character a Blue Chimay gets when aged a few years.

From a 330ml bottle on 14/7/2011. Pours a cloudy dark orange with a small head which dissipates quickly. Has a strong aroma of caramel malt, musk and fruity hops. This one tastes big, just as you’d expect for something that’s 10.5%. It begins with a big caramel sweetness, along with pronounced orange and peach flavours. The hops are massive, with a dry, grapefruity bitterness that lingers in the mouth. The sweet/bitter contrast is quite extreme here. The alcohol present makes it more of a sipper than a quaffer. Yet a another fine crazy brew from Mikkeller.

Orange hazy pour with a small. creamy, white head. Some lacing. Fresh citrus hop aroma with lots of juicy malt supporting the hops. Some pine resin as well. The taste goes over your tongue with the juicy malt sweetness going first with the hop bitterness chasing right on the heels of the sweetness. All stays pretty much in balance however.
