On tap at Zum Franziskaner. Golden with a nice white head. Malt, grass, mild hops and notes of grain. A refreshing one.

Keg at Zum Franziskaner. Dark amber with a creamy head. Caramel, dark bread, notes of fruit and some licorice. Smooth and nicely drinkable.

Bottle picked up from Hopdog, München yesterday/Wednesday consumed at home Thursday 9th March 2023. We had Minced Beef Pies. We're listening to Marc Riley on 6Music.. Pours clear gold with a white head.I was a little underwhelmed at first as I detected a dusty hoppiness, however a few minutes later and things opened up, grassy hops, a little citrus, good bite, fruity, dry finish, solid and very more'ish' Pils.

Bottled, thanks Ryan! Golden body, white head. Grainy, very grainy taste with vaaague citric touches. Grainy taste, lean, malty, some alcohol. Simple but kinda does work.

Eingetrübt rötlich bräunliche Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malzig fruchtiger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, fruchtig mit Karamell, leicht grasig hopfig. Mittlere bis hohe Süße mit mittlerer Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

Pours dark brown, still slightly clear, with about two fingers of off-white head. Decent retention and little lacing. A nicely deep and quite vivid aroma: good malty depth, with nuttiness taking the main stage, pretty vivid roastiness with a rather clean coffee note, lighter notes of dark bread and caramel. A slight hint of fruitiness and the slightest spicy hint on the back of things. Feels pleasantly warming despite the not too high abv. Taste notes more or less follow the aroma, with roastiness now not so evident and perhaps a bit less intensity. There's a slight sweet edge in the mouth, while the roasted note, along with a hint of coffee, is more evident in the finish. Finish/aftertaste is very well balanced in sweet/bitter terms, with a light fruity reminiscence. Medium or slightly sub-medium bodied, with light, delicate carbonation. The beer goes down super easily for the abv, maybe even a bit too much; i was maybe hoping for a bit more creaminess. Overall a very interesting strong dunkel/schwarz, indeed not too typically bavarian and closer in taste to a tmavy special.

ABV: 5.0%. Clear medium orange yellow colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, husks - chaff, pale malt, dusty, light hoppy, herbs, grass, meadow. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, husks - chaff, malty, disty, hops bitter, dry, earthy touch. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft.
