Die Brauerei Schwarzer Adler, von der uns noch unser Wappentier erhalten ist, hat sich im Laufe der Zeit zur Brauerei Eichhorn entwickelt. Unsere Familie hat sich der handwerklichen Brautradition verschrieben, und wir stellen mit modernster Brautechnik in aller Ruhe ausgereifte Biere nach dem bayerischen Reinheitsgebot von 1516 her. Und daran wird sich auch in Zukunft nichts ändern.
Um diese Qualität zu gewährleisten, unterzieht sich die Brauerei einer ständigen Qualitätskontrolle durch ein unabhängiges Institut.

02-08-18 // 500ml bottle from Maruhn. Slightly unclear amber. Nice head. Smooth slightly cara malty sweetness. Dry yhopped herbal bitterness. Great.

Bottle @ Brewery. Pours Hazy Golden with a large White head. Banana, But not overripe Banana, wheat and a bit of yeast. Smooth and Very Good Weizen.

Draft @ Brewery. Pours nearly Black with a creamy small head. Looads of Dark dried fruit, whiff of Tobacco and caramel. Smooth and soft.

"Eichhorn Schwarzer Adler", Flasche (50 cl) von Hopfen & Malz im Wedding. - Dunkles Kastanienbraun, klar; schwacher Schaum. - In der Nase trockenes dunkles Malz, etwas Mokka, Anklänge an Torf, schwache Hopfenherbe. - Antrunk kernig dunkelmalzig und ein wenig asketisch röstmalzig mit Roggenbrot und zarter Säure. Wenig Karamel, nur dezent malzsüß. Zarte zitronige Hopfenspitzen kontrastieren reizvoll mit der trockenen, leicht torfigen Dunkelmalzigkeit. Gut rezent, schlank. Im Abgang milde, schwach zitrusfruchtige Hopfenherbe. - Ungewöhnlich trockenes, schlankes Dunkles, aber süffig und angenehm.

“Eichhorn & Wagner Braurausch“, Flasche (50 cl) von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin-Wedding. - Sehr trüb goldbraun, enormer Schaumberg. - In der Nase feine, leicht exotische Zitrusfrucht, fränkischer Aromahopfen, kühle Minze. - Antrunk mild toastmalzig mit feiner Zitrusfrucht und Tabakherbe. Zart säuerlich. Für ein Kellerbier viel zu viel Kohlensäure - ich mußte jede Menge herausschütteln. Mild orangenfruchtig-hopfenherber Abgang. - Fantasievoller gehopft als andere Kellerbiere aber auch eigenartig brausig - ob das so gedacht war?

(bottle) Dark brown colour with a medium-sized and slightly tanned frothy head. Dark malty nose with bready, crusty and leafy notes. Moderately bitter and delicately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Roasty malty taste with leafy notes, ashes, hints of treacle and subtle herbal hoppy spice from behind; moderately hoppy and roasty bitter finish with a delicately sweet counterpart. Drinkable but not my favourite Schwarzbier. 10.VI.18

(bottle) Hazy, dark amber colour with a medium-sized and slightly tanned foamy head. Slightly toasted malty aroma with notes of chocolate, accompanied by fruity and resiny hops, including hints of dark and red berries, raisins and nettles. Mildly sweet and bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Balanced, slightly toasted malt character with distinctive notes of chocolate and a complex hops profile, including fruity, resiny and herbal spicy flavours; mildly bitter hoppy finish with a balanced level of malty sweetness. €-Flaeschla(@Hopfen & Malz, Wedding): Hazy, chestnut-amber coloured, big rocky and creamy - very stable - off-white head; moderate rural malty nose with a herbal-hoppy backbone; robust - mainly dry - bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, quite fizzy for a franconian Kellerbier; lingering toasty-malty (with spots of chocolate(!) and dryish herbal-fruity finish. A bit too fizzy, nevertheless a real Franconian goody...
