Description
The tradition of brewing beer in the abbey buildings of the nunnery Göss was revived when in 1860 the brewer and entrepreneur Max Kober acquired parts of the monastery and reactivated the brewery. This important year for Gösser is still noted on the labels today. With the founding of an AG in 1893, Max Kober laid the foundation stone for the development into one of the most important breweries in Austria.
In 1977 Gösser joined the Steirerbrau group, which merged into rivalling Brau-Beteiligungs-AG (BBAG) in 1991. From 1993 both companies operated under Brau Union Austria. In 2003, Gösser with Brau Union was taken over by Heineken.

Straight from the 0.5 l can. Bittersweet taste and bitter finish, more bitter than one would expect from a märzen. Light bodied, lively carbonated. Average.

At the airport before to flight to Geneva. A classical and acceptable radler, in my point of view. This one is rather malty, bready, lemon. 01.03.2020

well i’m not seeing much of a different between this and a run of the mill plae lager we have BOAT LOADS of around here. This didnt excite me, a big MEH!
re-rate.
ok, i might have been a little harsh the 1st time around. I don’t think i was as verse in beer as i am now. I can appreciate the maltiness of this beer now. It’s not incredible, but it’s good for what it is, and that is a decent crisp malty pils with a touch of hops. NOt too bad.
