Can shared by Kyle, thanks! Pours a clear orange gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has lots of musty pine and earthy grass with some biscuit underlying. Flavor has lots of earthy grass and musty pine with a touch of earthy grain.

Dark chestnut-to-mahogany brown body shows good clarity and a light tan head atop that shows moderate to strong retention.
Mild roasted barley in the nose combines with light dark chocolate and a spicy, almost cinnamon-flecked palo santo woodiness. Wow, that’s really interesting and works wonders with the beer elements, keeping things dry and adding an almost bourbon-like element without any of the resulting booziness and coconut associated with whiskey barrels. No alcohol noted or flaws.
In the mouth, fresh, clean yeast character is notable along with a light chocolate vanilla maltiness, light to moderate carbonation, mostly tight and tons of interesting, dry, spicy, leathery palo santo. I’d say it tastes like chewing on a really old, antique wooden chair handle, but that sounds bad, and this is really good. Everything that DFH Palo Santo Maron could have been, if every one of their beers wasn’t pumped so full of sugar and alcohol that you can’t taste anything else (I’m always looking for a reason to disparage DFH). Great beer, just enough maltiness and wood tannin to give it body yet nicely dry and very drinkable. Awesome. Want to try more from these guys.

12oz can pours an inky black with some cloudy, tan head. Nose has nougat and molasses, some baking spice, mild chocolate. Flavor has chocolate and cinnamon and sugar, mild pepper, some molasses. Full bodied, spicy finish.

Growler from Spirits Unlimited in Brick, NJ. Translucent reddish brown color topped by a moderate frothy khaki head. Sweet toasted malt aroma has notes of cinnamon raisin bagels. Bittersweet roasted malt flavor has notes of cinnamon, dark raisins and burnt toast. Some vanilla notes, though subdued. Somewhat thin bodied, though flavorful. All in all a decent effort.
