Corked bottle; vintage 2012, 9.5% ABV
Amber color. This is like drinking a candy, sweet, syrupy, moderately sour, very fruity, not the most complex, but very deep, luscious, lovely.

200mL bottle, pours a clear bright golden with no head. Aroma brings out baked pears, toffee and caramel. Flavour is along the same lines, with toffee, baked pears, brown sugar and caramel. Immensely complex and desert-like, with no acidity whatsoever. An elegant treat.

Corked bottle, as Domaine des Salamandres Poiré de Glace Cuveé Controverseé, vintage 2013
Amber color. Wonderful aroma of caramelized pineapple pie. Sweet, thick and luscious; the acidity is a bit too moderate, it has interesting notes of caramelized sugars, fruit cake; very nice, not as complex as the best ones but still excellent.

Bottle - Vintage 2013 - Cooked sweet fruit and a touch of tropical fruit. Clear gold. Sweet and fruity, light pear and a long sweet finish. The lack of acidity makes this great to drink without food.
