Sample thanks to Grumbo, shared with haddock. Appearance is murky, golden. Aroma is lightly fruity, assorted grainy malt. Continues to taste with a fruity sweetness coming through, alongside grainy syrup and indistinct adjunct. It's a tick.

Sunday 26th September 2021. The quest goes on tasting with Mat in Chez Sophie. Shared sample from Grumbo; cheers mate. Slight haze to the golden body, no head. Most likely oxidised, so difficult to give a proper score (I detected an apple like flavour). Got my North Korean tick though!

Draught beer aus der Plastikflasche - ein neuer Trend in Nordkorea. - 룡성 생맥주 10°, Plastikflasche (1,2 l) aus dem Potonggang Department Store, Pjöngjang. - Goldgelb, blank. - Nase matt bierähnlich, ein wenig muffig, schwach holzig. - Dünnes, blaß hellmalziges und schwach krautig gehopftes Bier mit milder aber ausreichender Herbe und gut abgestimmter, eher milder Rezenz. Angenehm erfrischend und ohne die üblichen Fehlaromen nordkoreanischer Biere, sieht man von einer leicht strengen Holznote (Sägemehl) ab. - Trinkbar, jedenfalls deutlich besser als das normale 10grädige Ryongsong. Deep gold, all kinds of caramel on the nose. On the palate, bland and caramel. I mean it’s ok if you like watery caramel. Passable, as communist lagers go.

Gold colour. Fairly thick head. On the nose, this is grainy with some rancid diacetyl. On the palate, the rancid diacetyl is more powerful. Yeah, this tastes like communism.

Bottle. [ As Ryongsong Ssalmaekju ]. [ As my country rating # 172 on ratebeer ]. Clear medium yellow colour with a small, virtually none head. Aroma is light moderate malty, pale malt, corn, corn - rice, sweet bread, wet hay, light sour malt notes. Flavor is light moderate sweet with a average duration, rice - corn - sweet bread, almost white sugar, wet hay, boilded rice. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Bottle and sample courtesy of MarkoNm, cheers! Pours very slightly hazy with a very small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of malt, grain, syrup, caramel and rice water. Light to moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Light body, watery texture, quite flat carbonation. Finish is slightly sticky and grainy. Not great, though somehow expected worse?

sample from Benzai, it looks like a morning urine sample from matching mini bottle. color is pale golden/yellow with no head, aroma os a bit dry, some sour notes, wine, rice. Sample at our great Leader Benzai. Looks like glorious morning urine. Smells sweet, malts, glue and deathcamps. Tastes alcohol, rice, sweet, malts and the depression of the North Korean people. Thin body (like most of their workers probably), soft carbo. North Korea is Best Korea.

Sample thanks to SinH4 shared with Dutchdrebus and ShivanDragon clear pale yellow color, no head. Weird aroma, vaguely beer but some sort of rice wine. Flavor is very watery and also reminds me of rice / beer with rice in it. Low body and carbonation. Nice country tick.
