Description
Italian local couple Massimiliano & Sonia, who initially aimed to produce beer only for the family, without the idea of obtaining revenue or even making it a real job, set up the Maiella brewery. Since our first beers in 2008, now several years have passed, the brewery has been forced to move to the home of 'Noonas' at a higher altitude due to the low fermentation.

750 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet (probably Kvadrat). ABV is 5.2%. BB date 19, Jan. 2015. Golden colour, low white head. Slightly unfresh aroma of over-ripe fruits and cooked vegetables, more pleasant notes of "spicy" yeast and malts. Moderate to low level of carbonation. The flavor has some fruit (apple and quince) and mild spicy notes, less pleasant hints of unfresh malts and cooked vegetables. Not a great beer.

Clear medium amber colour, large frothy slightly off-white head, diminishing slowly, good lacing. Malty and fruity aroma, light caramel, lime, pineapple, pine, grass, spicy notes. Mild taste, light to medium bitter and light sweet, citrusy, spicy notes, bit dusty. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Mild dry bitter aftertaste, fruity hints, some sharp spiciness in the finish, nice mild pale ale, not a real APA though.

750 ml capped bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. BB date 26.08.2014. ABV is 6.7%. Copper colour, moderate to low off-white head. Sweetish malty aroma with notes of caramel and honey, some spicy hints. Medium sweet and malty flavour, fairly distinct notes of honey, also caramel. A slight fruitiness helps the drinkability, but as in so many other Italian beers, the hops are far too moderate.
