Description
The Barbourne Cider Co. is a small family business based in Worcester. We use methods and techniques that have been perfected by cider makers for generations. With assistance from modern technology we make tasty ciders for all to enjoy.

Barbourne continue to use many of the methods and techniques that have been perfected by cider makers in Worcestershire for generations such as using wild yeasts in the fermentation process. They take pride in only using freshly pressed juice to make ciders and have never added artificial sweeteners to their award winning range of ciders and perries.

The orchards Barbourne use contain some of the older varieties of cider apples which make some really distinctive ciders. Early in the season they press Foxwhelp with Bulmers Norman, Redstreak and Major with Browns Apple and Harry Masters Jersey with Browns Apple. Later on other varieties ripen such as Lavignee, Brown Snout, White Norman and Kington Black. The Kingston Black is fermented on its own and bottle conditioned later as a single varietal cider. By mid November Barbourne are picking and pressing Dabinet, Yarlington Mill, Ashton Brown Jersey and finally Vilberie.

Rochdale Winter Ale Trail 2025 Beer#3 at what is officially Venue 8, although it's a perry this time. It's a very dry perry, fairly strong tasting, but the fruit is also strong enough to make its mark too. Very pale yellow appearance and a fruity aroma.

Bag in a box at The Bridge House (JDW), Chippenham. Pinky-gold colour. Tart, fresh rhubarb up front balanced against creamy vanilla. Does what it says on the tin. Yes it's a tad on the sweet side, but the tartness offsets that making it a lot more drinkable than many of the sweet flavoured ciders out there. As a lover of rhubarb I enjoyed it.

Wetherspoon Summer Cider Festival 2025 #3. Third and final breakfast cider to start the day out in Carlisle. After the main course this tastes like a dessert with the flavours exactly like a candy, and very sweet. Plenty of aroma too.

Growler from LCB. Light clouded gold with some bubbles around edges of glass. Aroma of subtle dry apple juice, skins, moderate sugars. Taste of moderate juicy apples, fairly acidic, strangely watery in the middle, drying finish. It doesn't quite work for me but its fine.
