Bottled, from Landbierparadies. Cloudy straw colour, rich creamy head. Phenolic nose with banana and bread. Mid sweet with light-medium body and soft, somewhat oily mouthfeel. Bready malt, bubblegums, bandaid and banana. Low bitterness. Unusually flavourful hefeweizen.

Lahev: Ruby-amber coloured, clear, smaller - but stable off-white head; sweet toasty nose, including dried fruits and chocolate; moderate sweet flavour, mildly balanced by a delicate bitterness, medium bodied, quite soft; slightly increasing bitterness in the all in all sweet nutty and caramelly finish. Good franconian quality…

(bottle) Clear, mahogany colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Moderately roasty malty aroma with notes of bread crusts, a heavy load of caramel and a delicately touch of hoppy spice in the background. Moderately sweet, as well as mildly hoppy and roasty bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Roasty malt-character in combination with caramel, crusty bready notes and a tinge of chocolate; moderately sweet malt-accented finish with a balancing level of hoppy and roasty bitterness. Fairly good and quite Franconian. 03.III.15

At the source nearby Bad Staffelstein at their keller by the cathedral, fantastic location in Franconia-Germany. On tap, pours a deep golden unfiltered color, medium off-white cap. Nose: farmhouse grainy, chicken stable, a citric note here and there (hops). Mouth: frizzy carbonation (too much CO2), some confusing maltiness with a corn feel which talk to commercial beers. Could not finish it, sorry.

Bottle 500ml. [ As Vierzehnheiligen Scheffel-Trunk Kellerbier ].Light unclear medium yellow color with a large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, straw, malt, agner - husks. Flavour is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, grain, malty, agner - husks. Body is medium, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft. [20140510]

Flasche (50 cl) von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin-Wedding. - Hellgelb, klar. - In der Nase nur schwacher, mild grasiger Hopfen. - Antrunk dito: sehr milde, schwach hopfenwürzige Noten mit Anflügen von Zitrone und Gras über unauffälligem hellen Malz. Durchschnittlich rezent, schlank; samtiges Mundgefühl. Im Abgang ebenso dezent wie im Antrunk. Zart säuerlicher Nachtrunk. - Sauberes, angenehm süffiges aber allzu mild gehopftes Pilsener. Könnte glatt als Helles durchgehen.

Bottle bought at Landbierparadies Nuremberg. Looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts mild, malty, more and more dry. Light fruity hints of lemon. Grasy and dry finish. Okay.
