Description
Bullfrog Brewery is a proudly independent and multiple award-winning craft microbrewery, brewpub, and eatery nestled comfortably in the vibrant heart of downtown Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Born of fortuitous circumstance and ambitious aspiration, we opened in August of 1996 with a committed 'focal on local' philosophy and a simple yet lofty goal ... to be the place that people need to spend time, to brew beers that people need to have in their life, to offer food that people need to eat, to offer live music that people need to hear, and to be the place that our beloved staff need to work. Bullfrog beers are renowned far and wide, especially our artfully-crafted, barrel-aged wild ales such as Le Roar Grrrz and Rood Bruin. Here at "The Frog," we celebrate life by creating outstanding and memorable beers, food, friendships, and moments.

Bottle at the Jim Green Returns tasting, Zaandam. Poured a murky reddish brown with a little life. The aroma is yeasty, citrus fruit, dough, biscuit. The flavour is moderate sour with a yeasty, tart red berry citrus fruit palate. Medium to light bodied with average to soft carbonation.

75cl Bottle at some beers with Jim Green. Hazy amber-pink colour, off-white head. Aroma of some lemon and tart raspberries, hint of acid, funk. Flavour is quite mild considering sourness, lemon, raspberry fruitiness, funk, soft bitterness, nice jammy fruit, right level of sourness for me. Light bodied. Good.

Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a red-copper color with a small foamy white head that faded and left no lacing. The aroma was sour with soy sauce, earthiness and berry. The flavor was tart with soy sauce, vinegar, earthiness and vague berries. Very long tart berry finish. Moderately full bodied.

(750ml bottle from Mikkeller Webshop) Pours somewhat hazy deep purple-red with a small pale pink head. Aroma is relatively soft, grape juice, lightly sweet red wine, oak, leather, some wet funk, maybe an acetone touch. Flavour is lightly tart and lightly sweet red wine grape, berry skins, plum?, lots of wood and tannins, leather, some funk, lactic citrus gives it a bit of a sour edge but the acidity is not so strong. Soft finish, tannins, lingering grapes, oak, light funk, light hops. Medium bodied, soft effervescent carbonation. Nice soft grape sour, feels halfway to lambic style but not all the way there.
