50cl Bottle close to BB. Dammn. Normally I check the date when I Pick Them out in the Rewe’s and such. This one was from a Rewe near Forchheim. Pours handsome amber with a creamy head. Nose is toasted caramelly. Chewy. Slight fruit and bread. Promising. As it warms it gets a tad Dusty which spoils the fun. But wauw What a potential. I could potentially stop at the brewery on my next visit cause the Mai Bock I had last April was too class. A rerate is around the corner. 3,3 for now.

Schwach eingetrübte goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger Geruch mit Karamell. Geschmacklich malzig mit Karamell und Honig. Mittlere Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit sanfter Kohlensäure.

Clear blond colour, white foam. Nose of sweet malts, a bit grainy, some grassy bitterness, estery, even some honey and banana. Quiet good Doppelbock.

Gold with a creamy, white head that lingers. Attractive, but that’s where the fun ends. Aroma somewhere between marshmallow and putrid grains. Sweet the whole way through, no sign of the promised pils bitterness. Unnatural feel, like dough with artificial sweeteners. Lingering marshmallow. The body does have a decent chewiness, but there’s nothing refreshing here, it’s even off-putting. Dismal.
