Description
The Faversham Brewery is home to Shepherd Neame, Britain's oldest brewer - and while 1698 is the Brewery's official founding date, there is clear evidence that its heritage pre-dates even this period. Using natural ingredients, such as mineral water from the town’s aquifer and local hops, our brewers produce Kentish ales bursting with character and renowned international lagers. Our brewers blend art and science to produce award-winning beer we want you to enjoy time and time again.

An amber beer with an OK head, though fast diappearing. The aroma is a light fruity. The flavor is dominated by bitterness with some sweetness - good balance. With notes of malt and caramel.

[The new version] An amber beer with a great head. The aroma is very faint malty. The flavor is malty sweet with hints of smoke and nuts. A fine beer - but not outstanding.

[The original version from 1998 sampled in 2006 - 9.2% ABV] An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of wood and caramel - and so is the flavor, while the mouthfeel is a bit sticky [7/4/7/4/15]

An orange beer with no head. The aroma is slight with notes of orange. The flavor is a bit flat - as cask conditioned ales sometimes are. The flavor has hints of orange, a slight sweetness and ending on a really good bitterness. A fine beer - but not great.

Bottled. Nut brown with rich head. Citrusy hop aroma. Medium dry and pleasantly malty with resiny hoppy finsih. Perhaps not overly complex, but elegant & tasty when fresh.

Bottled. Nut brown. Vague orangey nose. Sweet and flowery with light body and syrupy mouthfeel. Notes of honey in the sticky sweet finish with very little hop presence. A one-dimensional ale seemingly inspired by cheap malt liquor.

Bottled 500ml. -from local Metro supermarket. Clear amber coloured, medium sized off-white head, touch of toffee in the nose. Malty, dry toffee and light hoppy with mild notes of fruits. also dry finish. Ok beer but it doesn’t really deserve 4.1 that I’ve rated it at my RB beginnings.
Old rating: Bottled(500ml). -excellant beer much better than Bishops Finger good body, palate and great aroma. 8/4/8/4/17

Bottled 500ml. -from local Metro supermarket. Nice pale brown coloured, medium size pale beige head, light toasted malt in the nose with hint of alcohol. Dry malty, light fruity (apple) and quite bitter taste with discreet touch of alcohol in the finish. I’ve overat it before but not much.
Bottled(500ml). -very good beer with fruit flavours, well hopped but Spitfire is better. 7/4/7/4/15
