Description
The Faversham Brewery is home to Shepherd Neame, Britain's oldest brewer - and while 1698 is the Brewery's official founding date, there is clear evidence that its heritage pre-dates even this period. Using natural ingredients, such as mineral water from the town’s aquifer and local hops, our brewers produce Kentish ales bursting with character and renowned international lagers. Our brewers blend art and science to produce award-winning beer we want you to enjoy time and time again.

Nutbrown with medium head. Soapy, chemical aroma. Thick mouthfeel. Sweet-ish flavour with too much alcohol.

[Draught, 20-11-2002] Amber color, thin collar, nice lace. Pretty good, but a little metallic; strong hop character, medium malt.

[Bottle, 16-07-2002, 5-4-5-3-12] Bitter ale, without peculiarities.

Amber color, generous head. Simple malt aroma. Dry, realy bitter, not too much body strength. Strongly hopped, but not too much aromatic; long final. Essentially bitter beer, unbalanced.

Cask conditioned this is just an excellent ale. Enough said. Rerate May 14 2002: Had this one again today from can + bottle (bottle slightly better) in Norway, not nearly as good as cask conditioned, but still a very drinkable ale. Could use a little more aromatic hops. Rerate 2: I take back what I said about can vs. bottle. I found a retailer who stores the cans cold, and they’re a helluva lot better than the frequently skunky (clear!) bottles, which are stored warm at my other retailer’s. Well kept, I just love the nutty freshness of this ale.

I tried it on a bottle. It has a nice amber color, and a good head. It has a lightly fruity aroma. The flavor is fresh at first with some hops bitterness but it ends of with a metallic note - which I don't like. I can't recomend this beer.

A very refreshing beer with a lot of dry hoppiness - a little like an IPA. And a beutiful beer too.

Whisky-colored, medium head. Smooth toffee-aroma. Quite bitter with notes of hazelnut. Maybe a bit too thinnish.

Very dry, almost peaty flavour. Somewhat sourish. Hints of allmonds. Peppery.

With a higher alcohol content this would have been a very good beer. Now it's just too watery. But there's nothing wrong with the bitterness!

cask conditioned. Light bronze color, no head. Light bodied and not overly hoppy. Quite boring.
