Draught at Villi Wäinö, shared with Matti. The body is almost black as pitch with just a ring of bubbles to the rim. Aroma is aniseed and malty. Dark malts with mid-tart fruits to the taste buds added by liquorice. Finish off with a roasted bitter touch. Medium bodied. Tasty (Helsinki, 06.02.2011).

(Cask at Gallows Bird Kekri ’10) The beer poured amber and hazy. In my opinion cask ales should be really clear so minus one point. Head was ok. The fruitiness of the aroma was overwhelming and really pleasant. The keg version had more intense hoppiness in the aroma but the hops weren’t missing from here either. Also the taste was very fruity, Other flavours were toffee, hops, malts, sweetness and bitterness. Overall: a good brew, really fresh and fruity but too sweet.
Old rating, from tap: 6-3-6-3-11=2.9

Draught, at the brew pub, Suomenlinna, Helsinki, Finland. Dark orange colour with a smallish white head. Sweetish, fruity nose. Slid down nice n’smooth. More fruituness in the flavour and some decent enough hoppage also revealed itself in the flavour. Pretty simple stuff, but clean and very drinkable on a hot summers day in the garden.

Handbottled from draught (thanks Ville!). Hazy yellowish golden colour with small white foamy head. Aroma is quite spicy with some wheat and mild biscuity notes. Flavour is zesty, coriander and some other spices, wheat and mild sour wooden notes. OK witbier attempt!

Draught@SOPP 2010. Poured black color with a thin frothy head. Aroma is roasted malt and milk chocholate. Flavor similar, sweet and almost surupy finish. Easy to drink, really a nice schwarzbier.

On tap at the brewpub in July 2010. Very dark brown, almost black with a small head. Roasty aroma with licorice, coffee and caramel. The taste was rather sweet. A quite pleasant Porter but on the thin side. Low carbonation.

On tap at the brewpub in July 2010. Hazy orange with a small head. Unfortunately, quite a boring beer that did not taste so much. Some banana, spices and bubblegum. Light with low carbonation.
