Panda thanks to Cloin. Near clear gold beer, small and short lived bubbly pale cream colour head. Light palate, fairly smooth, decent fine minerally carbonation coming through on the back end. Smooth pale malts, a light creamy sweetness, imparting a mild dryness as well. Hops are light cooling pine over a juicy smooth and reasonably bright citrus. Touch of citrus peel and whisper of skunk. Some tropical fruits on the back end. Light and semi dry finish. Clean, hop juicy and drinkable.

$4.95 Pounder from Appalachian. Canned sometime in May, but it smudged. Matte black, cascading pour with a rich cocoa head. Boozy, oily chocolate, brown bread, brown sugar nose. Bittersweet leaning lactose sweet. Super chocolatey, obvious almond, heavy cream, medium high acid, very slight coffee with an earthy bitter bite, a little salt on the tail. Frothy, lactose, warming, enough carb to cut through it. Great, wanted to like it more.

Forgot to rate this a few years back. Fresher batch, though it must have missed the stamp machine at the brewery. Lowball glass at home. Medium-light gold, barely hazed but mostly see though, lingering froth. Softly sweet lemon, honey, & barely there grape essence on the nose. Bittersweet, green tea, slightly vinous, touch of sweet lemon, dusty Cheerios, sweet cream, a twinge of acid but not much tartness. Nice off bitter veggy finish. Refreshing. Thin, frothy, soft full carb, appropriate acid, low heat. Good.

$3.85 single from Appalachian. No or printed date oddly. Pint glass at home. Stout on a 93 degree day while laying out on the porch. Oily, nearly black, matte, with brown highlights, indifferent cocoa head. Cocoa, marzipan, soft vanilla, mellow malt char nose, maybe s little smoke. Sweet char upfront, vanilla, extra toast, very minerally, saline, slight faux lactose sweetness, mellow bitterness all the way down. Off-dry leaning sweet, supple with slight acid & whatever abv. Crushes nice, still too pricey.

$3.84 single via Appalachian. Pint glass at home. Stamp is smudgy, 4/21/24. Clear, slightly dull, pale gold, lingering froth. Sweet grain, clay, light berry astringency on the nose. Soft, full, bittersweet, curious fuzzy texture, mushy apple, very light veggy acid. Okay gimmick. Rather just have a great pils.

4-pack from Appalachian. Not broken up into singles yet. Same deal at Whippoorwill. Pint glass at home. Hazy plum pour with a lingering white-wash. Plum-Skittle-blueberry nose. Somehow smells natural. Sour plum & grape, juicy, bittersweet leaning sour, lots of skin, deep purple, obvious watermelon-laced muscadine & a twinge of cider vinegar. Extremely fruity if that wasn't obvious. Strong carb, a bit slick, appreciate the abv. Good.

Pint glass at the Lake House brewery near Nebo. Clear, classy MGD, active, constant frothy. Dry, earthy, sharp onion, pesticide/harsh vegetation. Nose is lost. Mellow flavor but texture is strong. It ends dry, itchy & incredibly astringent. Astringency++

On tap at Whippoorwill. Pint glass. Clear, medium hearty gold, active, constant regenerative head. Super grassy, fresh nose, slight dank, innocently sweet. Sweet onion & iodine. Veggie, cream, soft floral, faint berry. Just a little berry astringency on the finish but it helps clean it up. Clear but with a hazy sort of flavor. Relatively thin, though still a touch sugary. Constant carb, abv is mild despite the 8.5% list. Okay to good.
