Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is citrus and unusual fruit (to me). Near med body. Flavor is citrus and seems to have a touch of pineapple. Refreshing. Mildly bitter. I’d never place it as a wit.

Tap at Ale Arsenal. Chocolate and cherry aroma. Brett is very faint. Very slightly hazy amber with no head. As it warmed, it started to become disjointed as cherry, slight tart and stone ground wheat interplay.

Crowler shared by Jesse. It pours a deep reddish purple color with a disappearing foamy pink head. The aroma has big blueberry notes with a little maltiness in background. Touch of lemon. Flavor is only mildly tart with big fruity blueberry notes. Little biscuity malt and a hint of lemon tartness. Low carbonation. There’s some slight unclean trashy notes near the finish, but not totally noticeable. Overall, a decent kettle sour. Pretty juicy.

On tap at Altamont. It pours a clear light golden yellow color with a large creamy off white head. The aroma has nice spicy and floral phenols. Minty and very bright. The flavor is the same. Bright and minty with hints of menthol, flowers and spice. Background notes of dried fruit. Medium minty/earthy bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel with a mostly dry finish. It could use a tad more carbonation, but otherwise a super sold Belgian.

Tap at Harry’s Hofbrau in RC. Slight hazy dark yellow with full white head. Overt aroma of mixed dank, tropical fruit and wheat. Taste is moderate low bitterness and a little restrained with a mix of the same flavors found in the aroma.

Draft pour at Hop and Hound. Huge thanks to these guys for creating an opportunity for someone like myself to help out in raising funds for the heartbreaking fire next door that claimed many small businesses. Bothell will rebuild, and be better than ever thanks to great people like yourselves. Pours a golden orange color with a thin oily head. Big time grassy hop aroma. Flavor is bitter hop headlined, nutty thought with the lingering bitterness. A citrus peel late. Why do I always get extra bitterness in the double IPAs that advertise to be easy on it? I find it hard to believe that I’m wrong every single time. Oh well. Late tropical fruit palate. Flavor comes out stronger as it sat. Overall an impressive IIPA here.

Tap. Pours clear deep golden, large creamy off white head, dissipates slowly, great lacing. Aroma is light overall, notes of tropical fruit, pot, melon, guava. Flavor is light plus sweet, light plus bitter, juicy and resinous. Altamont seems to have a definite signature for its IPAs . Medium body, creamy.
